F. Scott Fitzgerald was a key member of the "Lost Generation" of authors who served in World War I and later wrote about the war and the post-war world. The included excerpts are from Fitzgerald's most famous work, The Great Gatsby, and explore the relationship between Nick Carraway, the narrator, and Jay Gatsby, a mysterious millionaire whose lavish parties embody the spirit and spectacle of the 1920s.

This app provides a robust multimedia lesson centered on The Great Gatsby (F. Scott Fitzgerald, 1925). Using this app, students can read an excerpt from Chapter 1 & 3 of the novel, view a video lesson modeling a student discussion of the text, and write a thoughtful response based on a writing prompt. Teachers may also allow students to participate in a peer review of their writing, with an accompanying rubric.
