Our primary emotions are happiness, sadness, fear, anger and disgust. These emotions are universal. The emotion cues we rely on most are facial expressions. We pick up these cues automatically, within a fifth of a second – without even being aware of it. We use these cues to interpret the emotions of others for everyday communication. This game trains a child’s perception of nonverbal facial expressions so they can enhance his or her everyday social interactions by becoming more tuned in to these subtle yet crucial emotional cues.
