My students are unable to post photos on their timeline events. I tried it with both MyHistro & MyHistro Extended and indeed when attempting to add a photo to the event, the file uploads extremely rapidly, but nothing shows up in the event itself. Sorry to always be the bearer of bugs, or issues, but this is a really valuable application, and I don't want my students to get discouraged from using it. Any help would be appreciated and thanks for your time and effort!

Whenever I, or my students, click on MyHistro Extended through Edmodo, it opens up a blank page. MyHistro works, but the extended edition does not. I tried to uninstall the Extended version from my classes, but when I tried to reinstall it to my classes, it wouldn't let me. It isn't just one computer or browser, this is classwide.
    • Histros Inc - Thank you for reporting. The glitch is fixed now. Hope you can confirm this.

    • Mr. Schultheis - Unfortunately, it is still doing the same thing to me. I have refreshed and reset my cache, along with used chrome and safari browsers, the same popup still occurs.

I have created and assignment that requires the students to work with a partner. We were able to add the co-authors easily but it won't let anyone besides the creator add or edit the events of the timeline. I was wondering if there was a way for me to fix it or if was a technical issue the program. Thanks.

I've created the assignment and in my test student account (I created a dummy student account so that I can see what they see), I'm unable to submit the timeline as an assignment. When I click submit, nothing happens. Could use some help making the turn-in feature useful. Thanks!
    • Histros Inc - Sorry to hear about this. Please, refresh your browser twice. That should clear the cache and remove the issue. Hope it helps.

      • Jan 13, 2014
    • Mr. Schultheis - I refreshed and cleared the cache through the browser options, still when I click Submit, at the top of the page "Thinking..." appears and then disappears just as quickly, but doesn't submit. I've tried on different computers through different web browsers (Chrome, Safari). Still no luck.
I know that the students can save it to their bookbag and then upload it from there, but I was hoping to avoid extra steps.
      Thanks.

I am trying to create an assignment for my students to create and submit a timeline. When I click on the app the "Post: Note Alert Assignment Quiz Poll" does not appear. Is there another way to create an assignment?
    • Histros Inc - Hi! Not sure if I understand the problem correctly.
If you wanted to create a Test with myHistro Extended, you should first add some timelines from myHistro´s archive to your Library. Or you can create some new ones. Then just go to Tests and click on Create new test.
If you wanted your students to create and submit a new timeline, you just have to do normal procedure in your Edmodo page (click on Assignment etc).
If your problem is different, please tell us what app you are using (myHistro or myHistro Extended) and specify your problem a bit more. Please
      more...

You are the first to know!
We are exploring newest technologies and combining these with our knowledge of history. And this is what we have created so far (usable with Android at this moment only, available in iOS in a few days):

World’s first high detailed, animated and historically authentic augmented reality soldiers in 3D. You have never seen anything like this before. Just need to print out the marker to experience it.

If I purchase the app for $9.00 can my all 130 students use it?

You already know how to create a myHistro timeline, how to create events for the timeline and even how to create, review and grade tests @myHistro Extended.

But one of the most important features of all Edmodo is an `assignment`. Learn how to submit an assignment with myHistro app.

Something warm from the oven: we just released our first FREE iPad app (BoZ) of the historic battle visualizations in our Decisive Battles series. Works also nicely with iPhone and iPod.

    In this version:

    - Exact reconstruction of battle sequence with added highlights, visualized on historic map,

    - Beautiful high-poly armor and weapon models of combatants in 3D,

    - Background story explained,

    - Battle description,

    - Fact list.

Next app will be the battle of Marathon. All your feedback and suggestions are welcome!

A good timeline has at least 5 events. But we have seen timelines with more than 900 events. How to create events for a timeline? See this prezi:

What is the difference between myHistro and the myHistro Extended version? Would I be able to purchase the Extended version and still enjoy the standard myHistro? Or will I need to buy both?
    • Histros Inc - No need to buy both. Extended version has everything what myHistro app has + more (archive, tests/quizzes, export options etc).
But they both differ a little from the web version (www.myhistro.com) due to concentration on education and integration with Edmodo.

It is our anniversary here, at Edmodo. Exactly 1 year ago we launched our very first Edmodo app - myHistro. Since then, we´ve had several thousand downloads, few problems and huge amount of positive feedback. We have heard people saying things like:

“If something like this had been available when I had studied History, I might have really got engaged and interested in it. MyHistro is a wonderful mashup combining Google Map with an interactive timeline…”

“Although it can be used for personal or business, MyHistro shines as an educational tool with its collaborative features that lets students and teachers create timelines together.”

“To tell you the truth, after I had this post finished, I could hardly get to sleep thinking about all the different stories which could be created using this website.”

myHistro team thanks you all for this wonderful time and we truly hope this year will be even more fantastic. Be playful, discover all "hidden treasures" of myHistro and myHistro Extended; embed your timelines, generate printer friendly pdf files or Google Earth layers out of your timelines and much-much more. We are here to help you with your questions, problems and ideas, if needed. Thank you!!!
