    I've had the Instagrok app installed, yet my Bibliography is not showing up on the Classroom version. Any ideas?
    • Mrs. Hughes - I'm at a training and teachers are not able to get on through the Edmodo app. However one teacher got on the web but with your lite version. I have the paid app on Edmodo.

      • Mr. Bruder - Presenting InstaGrok to a group of teachers next week. However, when I log in as a student to use the app, it shows me my history, allows me to enter a topic to search, but when I hit enter and it is "grokking" nothing happens once the bar is filled. Please help!

    • Mrs. Matsumoto - I'm in love with the instaGrok Lite version, & I'm trying to promote it to other teachers...My own drawback is the box that contains all the goodies. Isn't there a way we can extend it out like the other small "topic" boxes. It always seems to be right on top of my original bubble of info. So many teachers when trying to use it try to move the box with the facts, videos, etc. off to the side....Any way you can make that happen?

    What's the difference between the Lite and 45.00 classroom version?

The Classroom version includes extra features, such as the ability to submit instaGrok journals for Edmodo assignments, the Teacher Dashboard, and no ads. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    What does unlimited mean on the paid instaGrok app? For instance, is it $45 per teacher, or is it $45 for a school where several teachers could use the app in their Edmodo groups. Thanks!
    • InstaGrok - Hi Barbara. Thanks for your message. instaGrok is $45 per educator. I'm not sure when Edmodo will implement the ability to make school-wide purchases, but as soon as it's available, we'll add that to instaGrok. In the meantime, we offer site licenses on instaGrok.com.

    I am part of a teacher PD class that has instagrok lite and I want to use it with my class. However, I want to use this with my students and I don't see the free app when I search for it in the app store. I see it when I click on my apps, but not when I click on my app manager. How do I download this app so that I can allow my students to use it. Thank you.
    • InstaGrok - Hi Christine. Thanks for your note. We've been growing rapidly, and we've noticed performance issues with instaGrok Lite (that threatened to affect users of the premium version) so we had to take it down until we can resolve them. Note that existing users of instaGrok Lite can continue to use the Edmodo app, and free access is always available on instaGrok.com. (You can also get a free trial of instaGrok Classroom on instaGrok.com.)

    If you're experiencing a white page when launching instaGrok from Edmodo, on Google Chrome you can click on the grey shield on the right side of the URL bar, and enable the script. See attached image.

    • Mrs. Dawes - Oh man. I wish I saw this. I just got paid and went to buy this app and now it's $15 more. No purchasing for me, sadly. I work inner-city and the school won't buy it, and I've already spent so much money on my classroom. Bummer. Is there a way to follow something so that I can see if it goes on sale again?

    • InstaGrok - Hi Mrs Dawes! Sorry about the price increase being unaffordable for you. You are welcome to use instaGrok Lite - a free app, with most of the same functionality (without the teacher dashboard).

    I have purchased Instragrok classroom and I can't seem to align the system so that I can assign instagrok searches to students through edmodo. I cannot find a good tutorial either. Is there a good resource that I can use to make it work properly?

    Im just setting up my Edmodo groups and instaGrok (lite) app for the upcoming school year and every time I click on the instaGrok app to open it up in Edmodo all I get is a blank white screen. Any suggestions?
    • Mr. Klassen - Just tried it again today. It works! Very strange. If the errors happen again I will let you know but it seems to be working fine now...

      • Mr. Klassen - I do have another question. Because I live in Canada I can only get InstaGrok Lite. If I buy the InstaGrok classroom from InstaGrok will that attach to the Edmodo app at all? Or do I have to wait until the paid app comes to Canada for the extra features?

      • InstaGrok - Hi Mr Klassen! If I understand you correctly - you are right: the web version at instaGrok.com is not compatible with the Edmodo app. I didn't realize that the paid app wasn't available in Canada. Let me try to think whether there's an easy way to enable the Edmodo Classroom functionality for situations like this.

I had my students read Poisonwood Bible this summer and we will be reading Heart of Darkness in a few months. I have purchased the classroom edition.

        My problem is - that now - everytime I go into IntaGrok - either through edmodo or just to instagrok on the web... my request to GROK the Congo just keeps circling around and around. After 10 minutes I give the computer and the bandwidth a break and quite the groking search.

      • InstaGrok - Thanks Lee Ann. Try clearing the cache in Firefox and seeing if that'll help. It depends on the version, but it's probably under History->Clear Recent History->Cache.

    My problem is - that now - everytime I go into IntaGrok - either through edmodo or just to instagrok on the web... my request to GROK the Congo just keeps circling around and around. After 10 minutes I give the computer and the bandwidth a break and quite the groking search. I assumed the first 2 or 3 tries that there were simply difficulties that day. But now after a week I am still having problems. Any ideas? Hope?

    • InstaGrok - Hi Tamara. Thanks for your note. You're correct: instaGrok subscriptions are priced by educator, not by student. So a subscription will enable the teacher dashboard for all of your students.

    I downloaded the app, but now it's says my license expired the 22 of July. What do I do in order to renew the license? Btw I dl the free version.
    • InstaGrok - Hi Kay. Thanks for your message. Does this happen every time you try to use instaGrok, or was this a momentary thing? We haven't been able to replicate it with our test accounts, but we'll keep on digging, and we'll give you an update as soon as we know more.

    Is there information somewhere that compares the differences between the classroom version outside of Edmodo versus inside? Or is there a crossover at all, meaning--if you have purchased it inside Edmodo, can students also access the website version? Thanks for any links to more info on these questions!

    Love the app! My students have conducted searches and taken notes and are ready to begin drafting their research reports today. However, when they pull up the app, the tab for their journal does not appear! PLEASE HELP!

      Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Are you saying that everything else appears on the screen, except for the Journal tab?
      Does this happen for every student?
      (I just tried it myself and wan't able to replicate the problem).
      Please let me know - maybe send me a screenshot?

    • Mr. Bruder - They are able to access the bar with facts, websites, etc. However, the only tab that is appearing on the top left is the graph. This happened a few times with different students but if they logged out and back in it usually reappeared. However, few students are seeing this tab right now. It seems to be intermittent. I will send you a screen shot when I get a chance. Thank you for the quick help!
