ShowMe is great. Love the ease of use from a student standpoint. Any plans to add more sharing, or embed features for students? Students can then blog or share their videos to seek out feedback and comments from others. Could be a great foundation for ePortfolios. Right now there is no way to get the videos off of the iPad, correct? The direct link cannot be converted to an embed code can it?
    • Mrs. Shawler - I convert my showme videos to youtube videos. Here's how:
1.) Open showme website and select the video
2.) Click on "download this video"
3.) Go to library and select the video
      4.) Select "Share to YouTube"
Hopefully you understand my directions. I keep them unlisted on YouTube and give the students a link, just my preference.

Some of my students cannot view Showme videos. What is the usual computer/smartphone glich?
    • Mr. Hass - The most common thing that I found, if they are manually entering the address, is that the capital letter I, lower case letter l and the number 1 typically look exactly alike in the web browser address window. Check that you entered the 7 character alpha-numeric code right and that they are then copying it right. I found that what works best is that when I received an email telling me the address I would cut and paste it for viewing.

How do you become a Master Teacher on ShowMe?
    • Mr. Poliquin - Contact Kika Gilbert and offer your services ... generally, they contact you after reviewing your videos. They're looking for proficiency with the tools and ability to explain things to others: once you're a Master Teacher newbies come to you for answers and support.

This is the first ShowMe I created for my Year 11 English Literature class. I really like the app as it's really simple to create presentations. I like the audio option too.
    • Mrs Helen Davies - Press play and it will work

    • ShowMe - Hiya, you can control all of the notifications by tapping your name in the top left corner and choosing "settings" from the menu. Then just check the boxes for the notifications you'd like to receive!

I'm loving ShowMe! I've been working at an elementary school as a math assistant for a couple of months, now, and have recently begun bringing in my personal iPad to have kids make ShowMe presentations on during some class activities and the at-recess "Math Clubs" that I run. They all love it - even the shy ones! The school recently gave an iPad to each teacher in the building, too, and now most of them are following my lead - it's great!
    • ShowMe - Glad to hear it! In the classrooms I've visited it's always so empowering to see the students getting excited and proud about the ShowMe they create. Thanks for your feedback!

I think I just might have stumbled upon a gold mine here at Show Me! I teach 6th grade in a center based gifted program and many of my students have or use an I Pad for note taking in the classroom. I would love to find out more about how to use the Show Me for my students in the classroom and better yet, how to teach them to do it ( though I am sure many of them already know how :-) Any and all ideas for US History would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
    • ShowMe - Hi Mrs. Evans, Glad to hear you're liking ShowMe so far! I can definitely share some ideas about how other community members are using ShowMe. Send me an email at kika[at]showme[dot]com and we can set up a time to talk :)

Can students use their first and last name to login once an account has been created from the teacher account, or do they have to use the user************ username? If so is there a way to change their username?
    • ShowMe - Hi Mrs. Wysong, Students do need use their usernames but those can absolutely be changed. Just make sure you're signed into and then find your settings-->students or click on this link:
You can change the username by double clicking on the existing name :)
Please let me know if you have any other questions about student accounts!

How can show mes created by students, with a student account log in (no email) be shared? I'd like to share them to an edmodo group and/or teacher website. Thank you!
    • Ms. Goodwin - Once students have recorded their ShowMe narration and saved, tap on "Manage" on the right hand side of the screen. On the thumbnail of the ShowMe they want to share, tap "Share". Then they can either email a link or, if you want to share it on Edmodo, open the ShowMe in Safari and copy the URL. In Edmodo, they can attach a link (the URL they copied) to a post and share it with the class.
