In my effort to learn more about VR games in the educational environment, I reviewed is called “ZooBurst.” ZooBurst is a web 2.0 storytelling application that lets users create their own 3D pop-up books. This program can be accessed on a desktop or laptop computer and i-pad. The user can virtually see their written creation come to life. With a click of a mouse, one can rotate around the entire story setting. This game allows for collaboration and differentiated learning. It mimics many features of AutoCAD design, which is used in engineering drafting. I was complexed by the detail and ease of use.
ZooBurst has 3 different account levels. The basic level is free for an individual/teacher use. This includes 10 books for creating with 7 basic features. Next, is the premium level. The premium level allows unlimited books with much more features. Users can add sound, record their own voice, access templates, print, and download copies that can play offline. This is a great tool for only $9.99 an academic year. The school license has the same features as the premium but it allows for multiple users. This does have a minimum of 5 required licenses. The cost for this license is 29.99 per academic year, per user. In my opinion, ZooBurst is a wonderful learning tool at a very low cost. It provides many benefits to the user.
