I am going to be part of a 5th grade team next year where 3 groups of students rotate through 3 teachers during a day. Is there a way we could have students grouped by their homeroom but have all 3 teachers able to access them so the behavior tracking follows them throughout the day? If we had one account with all the kids in it, could all three teachers be logged into that account at one time?
    • Sokikom - Hi Mrs. Szcuzubiala,
Great question! We've designed our classroom management app to work as you described. You can set each of your homerooms up as a "group" inside of Edmodo, and then make sure all 3 teachers have access to every group by having each teacher "join" all 3 groups. Then, any teacher could open any of the 3 classes at any time, and all the behaviors for that class would continue to accumulate throughout the day.

You also could set up one account with all of the students in it, but based on other teachers who have been

If I buy the app will I have to renew it for next years students?
    • Sokikom - Hi Mrs. Pickett,
Thanks for reaching out: all app purchases are good for 12 months from the date of purchase. So, if you were to buy our Common Core Math App, you would have to renew it at the end of February next year for next year's students. to have access all the way until June 2015.

This is currently the only way that we are able to offer our app in Edmodo, but if you are interested in discussing any other options give me a call at 626-765-4566 or post further and we will speak further with Edmodo about your situation.

How do I get rid of the demo version of class management so that the students can start using it? Thank you.
    • Sokikom - Hi Mrs. Busse,
You do not have to get rid of the "demo" version of our math games to use our classroom management app. The "demo" that you see inside of the student experience refers to our Common Core math learning games. The only way to get rid of the demo version of our Common Core math learning games is to purchase that app through the App Store.

My students love using their 'class cash' on Sokikom that they earn for attendance and homework, and it's been working fine until a few weeks ago. Now my students are reporting that they only have 1 or 2 class cash 'bucks' when they login, but on my screen, it shows that they have over 20. It seems to be all of my students, not just a select few. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
    • Sokikom - Hi Mrs. Watkins,
Great question! To limit inflation in our virtual class cash economy (and I'm not joking - we've seen it happen quickly!) students have a maximum number of class cash they can earn for a given time period. We want you to be able to give as many behaviors as possible, but we also want students to earn class cash slowly enough that they can buy items all throughout the year. Essentially, this limit ensures that students who earn hundreds of behaviors in a short time period won't be able to buy all the items right away, so that Sokikom remains

    • Mrs. Watkins - I don't usually give more than 20 to a student per week. The issue I'm having is that on my teacher page, a student (for example, Katie) has 23 class cash. But when she logs in, it only shows that she has 3 class cash on her student page. Their money has been earned over the whole school year; they can only earn a maximum of 4 or 5 per week. Everything was working fine until about a month ago, when their totals all suddenly went down.I'm not sure what's going on :)

      • Feb 10, 2014
    • Sokikom - Hi Mrs. Watkins,
Thank you for letting me know the details - I just want to clarify one thing:
the amount of class cash that you see on the Teacher Page will not mirror the amount of class cash that student has in their account. When you click the "Transfer Class Cash" button in the "Give Behaviors" page, then whatever total students have will be deposited into their student account. So even if you award a student 35 postive behaviors over the course of the school year, if you transfer all the cash in one week, they will only receive 20 dollars.

I realize that you do not believe teachers should have to pay for curriculum materials but in reality that is what happens. I attempted to install the math games for our 3 fifth grade classrooms but at over $1000 it was cost prohibitive. My students have been playing the demo versions and have enjoyed them but many have now finished the demo and are asking for more. Is there no way to provide these games at a more affordable rate? Even if I could come up with the $1000+ to install, that only gives me 1 year and then I would be faced with the same problem when I needed to renew. School districts are cutting back as well. We are one of 19 elementary schools in my district. At my school alone it would cost $7200 to provide your games to the entire school. You can see how this would be cost prohibitive even at the district level when you multiple that by 19 schools and factor in that this is for math only. I do realize that it costs money to provide support and to provide updates and, reading this page, I can see that you provide excellent support and that is perhaps the justification for the cost so this is probably a futile request.

    • Sokikom - Hi Mrs. Perez,
Great question! There isn't a way to "redo" the placement pre-assessment.

Because our student rewards system is designed to work for each student’s unique individual learning program that is established based on the placement, we cannot “reset” or manually change student placement for one game without also resetting the data for all the learning games. However, if you'd be OK with this student starting over from the beginning in all learning games and avatar items, we can reset all learning game data - just let me know

    • Sokikom - Hi Mr. Contreras,
Great suggestion! Sokikom doesn't have text-to-parent functionality built in just yet. We're considering adding in a parent experience to Sokikom in the 2014-2015 school year, so this is definitely something we'll consider. As a former teacher, I can tell how helpful this instantaneous update would be, so thanks for thinking of this idea. • Mr. Contreras - Thanks so much...I could really see using it at that point. That way parents could use the daily report or batch of text messages to talk to their children about improving certain behaviors. Also...any suggestions for having it to where the children could see reports. I' m working on having 12 tablets in my classroom...that be one for every two children. But I'm trying to conceive of a way where children could see their feedback also.

I've been looking into this issue the past two days (I sent you an email last night) - to say it has been difficult to solve is an understatement! We believe this may be caused by an issue with Edmodo sending the updated licenses information to our server, and we're working on it.
