What's the difference for a student user & teacher with using the Edmodo App vs. the Chrome Extension? thanks! Is there a way a teacher can try the app before buying?

Our Chrome App is part of Google's Education App pack for elementary/middle schools and is very popular. The DOGOnews Chrome and the Edmodo App are very similar. Yes, it is now possible to try our app before buying it - check out the just published DOGOnews LITE App. The LITE App is FREE since it does not include the premium features (comprehension, critical thinking, vocab list) Try it out and let us know what you think ?

Hello- I am wondering what the DOGONews Edmodo app is supposed to show students. Is it supposed to take them to their general website?

When I am at my DOGONews class site and add it as a lesson plan, how are my students in my edmodo group informed?

Should I not be using the DOGONews class site if I want students to access it from Edmodo in order to get the Edmodo version of the service?

Must I add individual student accounts on my DOGONews class site in order for my Edmodo students to access and respond to the articles select as lesson plans?

DOGONews looks like it should be a good resource for my Edmodo students- I just can't figure out how it should work for them.

    Thanks!
    Jon

If you use the DOGONews app in Edmodo, there is a button that says "Edmodo" that will create a link in a note where you can write the assignment. That is as far as I have gotten so there maybe other ways to use it as well.

My ELA department is interested in using Dogobooks to track students' independent reading, but we have a few questions:
Is there any way for students to change their user names from the "edmodo-code" format in the app? It would be easier to track students by name.
Will teachers be able to see an entire class's activity when they open the app? Can they easily keep track of student activity through the app?
Can the students send private messages to other students, or are they limited to following? It didn't look like they would have that option, but I want to confirm for safety reasons.
    Thank you!

I'm wondering what advantages the app in Edmodo has over just having students link their Google accounts to the site? Thanks!

I believe that sharing our content through Edmodo is very seamless and easy. Another difference is that on the site students will see promotion of new books and offers for free books from publishers, which is all removed from the Edmodo App.

Are the books students read for the DOGOBooks Summer Reading available free to students to read through the Edmodo app?

We populated the Reading list with all backlist titles and hence, all books should be available at local libraries. To help students find the books, the App has a "Borrow" button in the detailed listing of each book, which can show the nearest public library where a book is available. All Prize books are free and will be shipped directly to the students provided they send in the Parental Consent Form.

Are you sure you want to remove the following Group?
