    Fellow Educators,

I was hoping that you could help me with something. For the past six months or so, I have been working with an amazing group of 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students after school to teach them the basics of computer science (coding). While this was originally planned to be a six week long course, their excitement and enthusiasm has carried it on throughout multiple quarters of our school year (these students even want to help teach other students next school year). They have completed two courses via code.org and are nearly ready to start a third one! They love sharing some of the things they create within these courses on Edmodo! However, they are also ready to take their learning to the next level, which is using what they know to program robots!

Below you will find a link to a DonorsChoose fundraising project. Please take the time to read more about this amazing group and help us reach our goal, whether it is through a donation or by helping spread the word about our project. Donations are tax-deductible, and if you donate within the next 5 days and use the promo code SPARK, your donation will be matched up to $100! Donations are also automatically set to donate 15% to DonorsChoose. If you would like the full donation to go to our project, there is an option to change it! Thank you in advance for your support!

I have been using this program called copy for a while and it is pretty awesome. It is like dropbox but they give you more space. Try it out if you want.

Anyone else finding that "random" is not so random with this latest update? It keeps picking the same four or five kids over and over again. Previously, it did an excellent job of picking randomly.
    • Mr. Goodelle - seeing the same problem as well.

      • Mr. Leitzel - Try Random Name Picker from Classroom Tools.
You could also use the Random button on Class DoJo.

      • Mrs. Watford - That's what I'm using Mr. Leitzel, random. I don't want to use another program. I've started picking random for the first kid and letting that kid pick the next and so-on. It makes it easier than clicking random again and again.

      • Mr. Gonzales - Hi, I've purchased the "science of stress" for my classes but it's not showing on the iPad edmodo app. Only able to see the app through the safari browser. Can we please fix this?

    • Mr. Hart - It's time to start a revolution - not one based around tech or the next new strategy or research, but rather centered around relationships.

can teachers "share" classes on classdojo? So if we have the same students we can both add points....
    • Mrs. Wilcox - Yes. On the home page where you see the boxes that represent each class, look in the top right corner of the box for your class. There is a little pull down arrow. Click on that and there is a "Share" link that will allow you to send and email invite to the teacher you would like to share with.

About

We're solving the biggest pain-point teachers face: improving student behavior and engagement in the classroom. We're doing it by gamifying the classroom with virtual, intrinsic, in-classroom incentive structures.
