    Congratulations to fort Mill High School on winning their third state mock trial competition championship title (State Team Code: JA). Participating students included Molly Anderson, Lauren Barnes, Kerry Barrowclough, Erica Daly, Stephen DeMayo, Sophia Hennessy, Taylor Hennessy, Lenique Huggins, Nick Kulesa, Hailey Morris, Jasmin Scardino, Daniel Sessions, Kaila Sigman, Jack Vidt, Sonia Xing, and Tonia Xing. The teacher coaches were Beverly DeMayo and Ben Tyler (Mock Trial Alumnus). The attorney coaches were Garrett Johnson (Mock Trial Alumnus), Walter Dusky (Mock Trial Alumnus), BJ Barrowclough, and Ryan Newkirk (Mock Trial Alumnus). This team will represent South Carolina at the National High School Mock Trial competition in Boise, Idaho in May.

    Congratulations is also extended to Wando High School on being the first runner-up (State Team code: AB). Participating students included Catherine Beaty, Will Bryant, Gibson Dowd, Skye Gregg, Lia Hsu-Rodriguez, Catherine Masters, Maddy Neese, Katherine Palmer, Eleanor Ross, Brevin Stallings, Ben Wallace, Coleman Wallace, and Harrison Wetherell. The teacher coaches were Sally Wallace and Michael Beaudry. Their attorney coaches were Elliott Barrow and Bruce Wallace. Several of the students on the team participated in previous Middle School Mock Trial competitions.

    Loading up for the State HSMT Competition at the Honorable Matthew J. Perry Federal Courthouse. Maybe we will finally find out definitively who killed Aunt Mae? Certainly by the end of Saturday we will know the best High School Mock Trial team in South Carolina for 2016. Good luck everyone and have fun!!!

    Middle School Mock Trial Program Changes due to recent SC Flooding
    In light of recent historic and tragic flooding in South Carolina, the Law Related Education Division has made changes to the 2015 Middle School Mock Trial season. The regional competition on October 24, 2015 will ONLY occur in Greenville. All other regional competitions have been moved to December 5, 2015. Consequently, there will not be a State Championship competition for 2015.
