About Mrs. Lori Whitlow

The 2016-17 school year marks my 21st year teaching, 20 of which have been at Christiansburg Middle School. I live in Salem with my family, including my husband Josh, who is an Assistant Principal at Hidden Valley High School, and our two children Austin (15) and Emma (11). We also have a Goldendoodle, Bindi, and two cats, Sox and Turbo. In my time away from school, I enjoy gardening, scrapbooking and other crafts, reading, and being with my family. I spend a lot of time running my kids to their practices - horseback riding, marching band, and swimming are their current sports of choice. Finally, I am spending a lot of my free time writing curriculum into iBooks for use as interactive iPad books.

Education and Achievements:

B.S. in Animal Science: Science Option; minor English: Professional Writing (Virginia Tech)

M.S. in Career and Technical Education: Agricultural Education (Virginia Tech)

Honorary State FFA Degree (1999)

National Board Certified Teacher: Career & Technical Education in Agriculture and Environmental Science
