About Mr. Alan Dunson

My name is Alan Dunson and I am in my 3rd year of teaching at Bluffton High School in the field of Mathematics. I am a 2011 Ashland University Alumni (Go EAGLES!) and a Columbus, OH native. The reason I entered education is quite simple: the kids. I absolutely love waking up and coming to school each day. My approach each day to all of my students is viewed as "an opportunity to motivate and inspire" while teaching various forms of mathematics along the way. I encourage all of my students to find a vision for themselves, keep it at the front of their minds, reach that vision, and bring a friend along the way! My passion for what I do, for these kids, for my colleagues, and for the future of education is what keeps me enthusiastic and energetic every day! My vision and hope for students not just in my classroom, but in all classrooms, is that they can chase a dream they have for themselves and be a light in other peoples lives during their journey. While I am doing my best to be a Master Teacher someday, I am attempting to exhibit a positive impact on my student-athletes in the respective athletic disciplines. My excitement grows more and more as I move from one season to the next during the school year, as I am surrounded by an excellent staff of men and women and a special group of young men and women in the Bluffton community! Bluffton High School has truly been a place I can call "home." Go BOBCATS!
