About Ms. Angie LeVasseur

It was in second grade that I decided to become a teacher. Teaching is my passion, and I foresee myself doing it for years to come! Currently I am in my 19th year teaching in public schools, and I have taught language arts, science, and social studies at the middle level. Social studies is my all time favorite subject to teach, and I couldn’t be happier exploring the Eastern Hemisphere with young people. The University of Wyoming is where I earned my undergraduate bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate – Go WYO! Only to end up back in my hometown of Bouder, Colorado at the University of Colorado where I obtained my master’s degree in Experiential Education. I am a mother of two children- Macey age 11, and Cole age 8. We also have two wonderful Labrador retrievers named Zeta and Nala who are very much a part of the family! In time away from work, my family and I enjoy “camping” in our fifth wheel; my husband Kurt does the driving, and I do the navigating. We love to visit water parks, and spend time with our extended families in Michigan and here in Colorado. Some of my interests and hobbies include reading, photography, creating digital photo books, gardening, geo-caching, and baking-especially the raisin bread tradition passed down from my great grandmother. Traveling to many places around the world has truly shaped who I am and continues to define what I stand for. I believe strongly that the most effective way to learn is to experience- and to become a knowledgeable person one needs to get out of their comfort zone and explore the world. A quote I heard once that has always stuck with me is… "It is better to wear out than to rust out!" Happy travels! Be kind, work hard, listen carefully, get smart! -Ms. LeVasseur
