About Amy Sampson

My name is Amy Rosoff Sampson. I have been teaching at Baltimore City College since 2003, and I have been head of the English Department since 2010. I received my undergraduate degree in English and American Literature at Brown University, where I wrote my honors thesis on a poet named Audre Lorde. After graduating from college, I spent a year in Equador teaching English with a program called World Teach. That experience showed me that I wanted to pursue teaching as a career. When I returned, I earned a Masters in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education; then I saw a job offer at a school in Baltimore. I visited City without knowing anything about the school or about Baltimore, but I was so impressed by what I saw that I decided to move. Ten years later I consider myself a Collegian.
