Edmodo Support Ambassador and Edmodo Certified Trainer- I am here to support you! <div style=""><br style=""></div><div style=""><div style=""><table style=""><tbody style=""><tr style=""><td style=""><p style=""><font face="times new roman, serif" size="5" style=""><span style="">I am a 6</span><span style="">th</span><span style="">-grade English Language Arts teacher in the South Orange/Maplewood School District and have been teaching for the past ten years.  In addition to serving as an ELA teacher, I have taught students with special needs and worked as an ABA Therapist.  In our school, I have also assumed the roles as "lead teacher" in the ELA department where I promote rigorous learning; aligned with the Common Core, the Reading and Writing Project methodology, and the National Educational Technology Standards.</span></font></p></td></tr></tbody></table></div><span style=""><div dir="ltr" style=""><table style=""></table></div></span><div style=""><span class="Apple-style-span" style=""><font face="times new roman, serif" size="5" style=""><span style=""><span style="">    </span>My present work</span><span style=""> focuses on </span><span style="">learning in the digital age as a model for moving </span><span style="">my school and other educators forward</span><span style=""> and by </span><span style="">revolutionizing reading and writing workshop with state-of-the art tools and methods under the direct mentorship of Mary </span><span style="">Ehrenworth and Lucy Calkins</span><span style="">. </span><span style="">As a result</span><span style="">,</span><span style=""> I have</span><span style=""> emerged as an innovative speaker</span><span style=""> at many conf</span><span style="">erences, including the recent </span><span style="">NJECC conference at Montclair State University</span><span style=""> (MSU), NJASA's annual conferences, EdmodoCon</span><span style=""> and institutes at Tea</span><span style="">chers College including the Spring Reunion which opens its doors to thousands of educators from all over the country</span><span style="">.  </span><span style="">My</span><span style=""> main focus is the use of social media and web 2.0 technology </span><span style="">and the integration in </span><span style="">schools by means to </span><span style="">engage students, improve communications with </span><span style="">all school </span><span style="">stakeholders, transform learning </span><span style="">spaces, </span><span style="">and </span><span style="">help educators grow professionally.</span><span style=""> </span><span style="">I have been fortunate enough to be able to </span><span style="">pilot many platforms in my classroom such as </span><span style="">Edmodo</span><span style="">, Google Apps, Evernote</span><span style="">, </span><span style="">Livebinder</span><span style="">, </span><span style="">and </span></font></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style=""><font face="times new roman, serif" size="5" style=""><span style="">Twitter.  </span></font></span></div><div style=""><span class="Apple-style-span" style=""><font face="times new roman, serif" size="5" style=""><span style="">    I am extremely pleased to say that my 6th-grade language arts classroom has pioneered a 1:1 paperless learning environment.  And most recently, my class won EduBlogs', "Best Use of Media and Video in the Classroom" for our Virtual Debates via Google Hangout, and they will be showcased in a documentary on PBS in the coming months.  I am also honored to assume the role as an Edmodo Certified Trainer in their first cohort group and just recently I became a Google Certified Trainer.  And most recently, I was nominated for honors in the Middle School Teacher Category for the 2014 Bammy Awards, and I just made the top 5 short list.</span></font></span></div><div style=""><br style=""></div><div style=""><br style=""></div><div style="">Connect with me on Twitter at @Angelinashy.</div></div>
