About Me

I am excited to announce that I have been chosen as one of nine Distinguished Teachers of the Year by the NCEA (National Catholic Educational Association) and will be receiving the award in April 2015 at the national convention in Orlando, Florida. I am one of the lucky people who found their passion, teaching, and actually gets paid to do it!

I am a committed Catholic educator who believes in educating the whole child. I teach literature and language arts to 8th graders and I have achieved almost 100% paperless status in my classroom thanks to Edmodo. I believe that preparing students for the future involves not only preparing them with the technology skills they will need but also the critical thinking skills needed to make sound moral life decisions required of adults.

I have been using Edmodo since 2010 and once I started I have never stopped. Edmodo is the hub of all my classroom activities and I cannot even think of a day teaching without it. I love being an Edmodo Support Ambassador and Certified Trainer! Sharing Edmodo love is my favorite thing to do. Recently I have attained the status of Edmodo Snapshot Trailblazer and I am gradually learning more and more about using Snapshot with the Virginia SOLs. I am so honored to be asked to help out. I am an Edmodoian heart and soul.
