I am a secondary mathematics teacher that has taught the following subjects in base secondary high schools: Tech. Math, Tech. Algebra, PreAlgebra, Algebra I, Honors/AP Algebra I, Honors/ AP Algebra II with Trig, Geometry, Honors/AP Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Honors/AP Pre-Calculus, A.P. Calculus, A.P. I have a vast background of all mathematics fields through Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Marchov Chains, Non-Euclidean Geometry, Statisitcs, Euclidean Geometry, Intermediate Analysis, as well as secondary mathematics subjects. Teaching is a wonderful calling and a great service that is highly needed across the country. I consider teaching "at risk" students a privelage, because we not only cover mathematical topics. As a teacher, I discuss character education and answer questions relating to the real world and their lives. Currently, I am teaching at Jeffereson County Counseling and Learning Center that is a school that focuses on academics, as well as behavior / character development. The superintendent asked me to consider teaching at the current school environment, so students could maintain and not fall behind in their math skills. I have actively served on textbook adoption, as well as curriculum writing within Jefferson County Board of Education. Personally, my favorite mathematical textbook authors are Richard Brown (Mathematics Teacher, Phillips Execter Academy, Exter, New Hampshire) and Mary Dolciani ( Formerly Professor of Mathematical Sciences, Hunter College of the Ciry University of New York). I have sponsored the following activites: Student Council, Interclub Council, Math Team, Scholar's Bowl, Blood Drive, Homecoming, Beauty Pagents, Mu Alpha Theta, Senior Class Sponsor, as well as many others. I have written and recieved grants for techonology in the mathematics department, as well as writing a recommendation for a Gates Millineum Scholar. I am a member of the following professional organizations: NCTM, ACTM, A.P. College Board / A.P. College Ready, edWeb, AEA, NEA, and JCEA. I have received the following awards in my school district. Second Mile Teacher at Minor High School 1999 Second Mile Teacher at JCCLC-East 2012 Nomination for Teacher of the Year 2013
