PERSONAL DATA: Born in Pensacola, Florida. Married to the former Chloe Gainey of Pensacola, Florida. They have two children and two grandchildren. He enjoys racquetball, running and boating. His mother, Mrs. Marie Thomas, resides in Pensacola, Florida.
EDUCATION: Graduated from Pensacola High School in Pensacola, Florida; received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU); received a Master of Business Administration from Webster University; received a Masters of Education in Education Leadership from Charleston Southern University. Military education includes: Airborne School; Infantry Officer Basic and Advance Courses; Maintenance Management Course; Combined Arms Service Staff School (CAS3); Human Resources Officer Course (S1); Command and General Officer Staff College.; Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution System (PPBES) Course and the Inspector General College.

EXPERIENCE: Gordon accepted a commission as a second lieutenant in the U. S. Army as a distinguished military graduate from Florida A & M University. His initial assignment was in Radcliff, KY, where he served as a Mechanized Infantry Officer followed by an assignment to the Presidential Guard (3rd US Infantry Regiment), Fort Meyer, VA. Gordon accepted an assignment in Berlin, Germany, initially as the Battalion’s Logistics Officer followed by two company commands. At Fort Meade, MD, he served as a Human Resource (S1) Officer, Intelligence Officer (S2), Operations Officer (S3) and Battalion Executive Officer (S4). Other assignments at Fort Meade included an assignment as an Aide-de-Camp to Lieutenant General Charles Franklin and Chief, Training Division. Gordon’s field grade assignments were in 2nd Infantry Division Korea, The Inspector General Agency – Pentagon, Washington, D.C. and Project Manager, (US Army Congressional Project) Fort McPherson, Atlanta, GA. After transitioning from the military, Gordon worked as a Mortgage Loan Officer, Sr. Project Manager of Carolina Registered Importers, Program Manager and Instructor, Technical College of the Lowcountry, Vice President of Operations for ETAK Technologies; Co-owner, NorthStar Automotive (Retail Used Vehicles) before accepting a teaching position at Beaufort High School. Gordon has served as a lead teacher of the business department for five years and started-up an in-school alternative education program at Battery Creek HS. Gordon implemented an Entrepreneurial Course at H. E. McCracken Middle School and started up a Computer Technology Course at Bluffton Middle School from 2010 to present. Gordon has also served as an adjunct professor for Wheelock College teaching business accounting, economics and statistics.
INFLUENCES: Gordon was heavily influenced by his hometown hero and family friend General Daniel “Chappie” James. As a young kid he admired heroes Generals George Patton, John J. Pershing and Erwin Rommel. Chappie was a friend of his father and uncle. Chappie visited Booker T. Washington Junior High School when Gordon was in the 7th grade. He was dressed in his Air Force Uniform and he talked to students about believing in oneself and never quitting. Like General James, he wanted to be a combat fighter pilot. General James was fearless, a great pilot, a powerful speaker and a true patriot. Gordon was also influenced by Lieutenant General Henry “Hank” Doctor, Jr. who was a gentle warrior of high ethics. He was committed to uplifting others. Like his heroes he loved his soldiers and country.
SHORT TERM GOAL: To startup an Engineering Management Company that is 8A Certified with US Government.
LONG TERM GOAL: To be an inspiration to our youth.
