Would anyone know the site for the 'hold up 1, 2 or 3 fingers' game that was played at the end of the VSTE conference for door prizes? I don't know the actual name of the game but depending on how many fingers you help up and what was displayed on the screen, you sat down if it wasnt the number you indicated or kept standing. It was alot of fun and I thought that would be a great way to have drawings for small prizes at my school.

Tonight in Second Life: Motivating the Reluctant Reader Through Technology
Motivating the Reluctant Reader through Technology
Zadist Diavolo (aka Rob Furman) will present his VSTE Conference session on this topic on VSTE Island. In this presentation, which uses the 10 principles for motivating reluctant readers cited in the article written by Pamela Allyn, Taming the Wild, I will share technology apps, web sites and programs that create a supportive environment for the reluctant reader and also instill that important passion for reading. Over 25 apps, web sites and programs will be shared. They will then each be discussed in relation to one of the 10 principles for motivating reluctant readers. It is no longer acceptable to say “technology will change education in the future.” The future is here, the future is now and technology has changed education. This presentation will share ideas on how to motivate the reluctant reader through apps, websites/programs that create a supportive environment and instill that important passion for reading.

VSTE holds virtual "face to face" professional development every week in Second Life. Get up and running with an avatar and expand your professional learning network.
Each event is held at 8 PM RL (5 PM SL) on VSTE Island. Learn more at the Ning.
