Next to launching a new toolbar, we've put a lot of effort in expanding our languages arts tools. Last week we launched a new tool, called Sentence completion. This tool provides a sentence with a blank and a couple of words to fill the blank. You can invite students to come to the board one by one to drag and drop the correct word in the blank. With the 'check' button, you can check if the answer is correct.

At Gynzy we are always looking for ways to make your interactive whiteboard easier to use. That is why we've improved our toolbar. You can find it under the 'Board' tab. The stuff you use most on the board is now closer than ever. To get you started with our new toolbar we created a video that shows you how everything works.

Measuring angles is an important part of the curriculum. That is why we added a Half Circle Protractor. This Protractor is a widget. That means you can open it on top other things, like shapes. You can rotate the protractor to match an angle and the angle degrees will automatically display. You can open the protractor right on the board: under 'Extras' and then 'Widgets'.

TIP: you can draw perfectly straight lines, using the protractor and the pen. With the Rhyme tool you can teach students what rhyming means. Ask students to repeat the words on the board and select the two words that rhyme.

Gynzy's tools are designed to work with students on their core competences. One of these competences is spatial relations. There are many ways to work on spatial relations in Gynzy. One example is by using the Peg Board.

In the Peg Board tool students have to reproduce an example image. By doing that, students learn to use a grid and work with coordinates. When the student finished the drawing, you can check if it is correct, by simply pressing the 'Check' button.

Next to using the pen, you can also type text on the board. We added two new, much requested, fonts that you can use when typing: School and Dyslexie.
The School font is designed for younger students. It includes the letters as students learn to write them. Such as the written ‘a’ instead of the typed ‘a’.
The Dyslexie font is especially designed for students that have Dyslexia. It’s easier to differentiate between the letters of this font and makes words easier to read. Give it a try and let us know what you think!

Celebrate a birthday with the interactive birthday cake.
With the Birthday Cake you can celebrate a student's birthday in class. The birthday boy or girl can choose a cake, decorate it and blow out the candles. What a nice way to celebrate a birthday!- Mar 14, 2013
