I use weebly to create a very interactive website and showme presentations are often included. Love it!

I'm loving ShowMe! I've been working at an elementary school as a math assistant for a couple of months, now, and have recently begun bringing in my personal iPad to have kids make ShowMe presentations on during some class activities and the at-recess "Math Clubs" that I run. They all love it - even the shy ones! The school recently gave an iPad to each teacher in the building, too, and now most of them are following my lead - it's great!
    • ShowMe - Glad to hear it! In the classrooms I've visited it's always so empowering to see the students getting excited and proud about the ShowMe they create. Thanks for your feedback!

I think I just might have stumbled upon a gold mine here at Show Me! I teach 6th grade in a center based gifted program and many of my students have or use an I Pad for note taking in the classroom. I would love to find out more about how to use the Show Me for my students in the classroom and better yet, how to teach them to do it ( though I am sure many of them already know how :-) Any and all ideas for US History would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
    • ShowMe - Hi Mrs. Evans, Glad to hear you're liking ShowMe so far! I can definitely share some ideas about how other community members are using ShowMe. Send me an email at kika[at]showme[dot]com and we can set up a time to talk :)

Can students use their first and last name to login once an account has been created from the teacher account, or do they have to use the user************ username? If so is there a way to change their username?
    • ShowMe - Hi Mrs. Wysong, Students do need use their usernames but those can absolutely be changed. Just make sure you're signed into ShowMe.com and then find your settings-->students or click on this link: https://www.showme.com/profile#Students
You can change the username by double clicking on the existing name :)
Please let me know if you have any other questions about student accounts!

How can show mes created by students, with a student account log in (no email) be shared? I'd like to share them to an edmodo group and/or teacher website. Thank you!
    • Ms. Goodwin - Once students have recorded their ShowMe narration and saved, tap on "Manage" on the right hand side of the screen. On the thumbnail of the ShowMe they want to share, tap "Share". Then they can either email a link or, if you want to share it on Edmodo, open the ShowMe in Safari and copy the URL. In Edmodo, they can attach a link (the URL they copied) to a post and share it with the class.

Are you ever planning to release a similar app for android? I work at a Title I school, and most of my students cannot afford to buy the more expensive Apple products. I really like ShowMe, but it is hard to do anything when I can't find anything comparable for the other students.
    • Mr. Jones - I know many educators who would be interested in an Android version as well.

      • Jan 17, 2013
    • ShowMe - Hi Ms. Bousquet & Mr. Jones, We would love to build an Android app but we're still a super small team. When we grow we'll definitely revisit this and you'll be the first to know!

Hey Mrs. Joyner. I'm not sure exactly how to get into direct contact with you through Edmodo, so I'm sorry if this is not the most efficent way but I just wanted to ask if you would please make sure Caron's homework is sent home with him on Monday, I am picking him up at 11 from school for a doctors appointment. Also, do you think it would be beneficial for him to have a tutor after school to help him with math?

How can I put my student's show me into my library on edmodo ?

How is student account different from teacher account? Can students erase work done by another user?
    • ShowMe - A student account is different from a Teacher account because it does not need to be linked to an email (just the teacher's) and for students under age 13, their identity is protected. Students cannot erase work done by other users.
As the teacher, you can control all aspects of the account!

      • Dec 14, 2012
    • Prof. Janine Moneda - Yes indeed.. still as a teacher you also be an administrator.

Am I correct that recording can't be reset and you would have to start all over agin? Also once saved can a showme be reopened and modified? Is there anyway to use showme without having an account? Thanks!
    • ShowMe - Hiya, yes right now would have to start your ShowMe over again if you were not happy with it while creating :-/ We previously had some editing tools but they were causing the app to be bugging and affecting the overall experience. Keep your eyes peeled for when we reintroduce them!
As for creating without an account, you do need an account to upload a ShowMe. Creating an account is free and very easy!

      • Dec 14, 2012
    • Betsy Rettig,Classroom Instructional Aide - Take a screenshot of each page before you start recording. Then if you mess up on the recording, you only need to reload the screenshots, not recreate each page :-)

      • Apr 26, 2013
    • ShowMe - @Betsy, great idea! I totally never thought of that one--its a very good solution

CLICK ON THE LINK below to see one of my student listening to their recording of themselves...key component...she is a student who often makes mistakes. I am isolating the auditory component and my students are now catching more of their mistake. ENJOY!
    • ShowMe - This is so great! It's really cool to see ShowMe being used as a tool to help students evaluate themselves, what an awesome idea!

      • Mr. Scholl - Thxs....last year I presented at the Westchester Tech Expo and Show Me was one of my big hits. I am running a course this weekend at Scarsdale, showing teachers how to use iPads and tech in their classrooms. Show Me...will be one of the highlights!!!!!

      • ShowMe - I had no idea you were so close to us :) We'll have to collaborate soon!

        • Nov 30, 2012
    • Mr. Scholl - Just finished the course and shared 25 apps and participants had to create projects and SHOW ME was in almost every presentation. Doc23
Would love to hear about any new features coming out and see how I can integrate them into my classroom and presentations. Thxs again!!!!

Why can't my students open their Showme's on edmodo from their ipads. They are only working from the computer. Please help!
    • ShowMe - Hi Mrs. Brandeberry, I'm so sorry this is happening :( Could you tell me what section of their Edmodo app they are trying to view the videos from? I have several posted in my library and was able to view from there so please let me know so I can troubleshoot this!
      We'll get this fixed!

    • Mrs. Brandeberry - I posted them for my students to view. I tried copying the link and embedding them.

I have been using ShowMe in class, and have found it to be a wonderful tool. Much to my chagrin, my stylus recently broke. Does anyone have a suggestion for a reasonably priced stylus that is effective with ShowMe on the iPad? Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions! :)
    • Mrs. Sherry - I've been stylus shopping for quite some time. I've purchased many, but the best BY FAR is the Nook stylus. It's $20 but worth it. I wish I'd bought it first and ignored the rest.

      • Jennifer Bond - I just get them off of Amazon. You can get 10 of them for $3.55 or something cheap like that! I need a lot of them around the classroom and at home, as I seem to always leave them in different areas.

        • Nov 5, 2012
    • Mrs. Peretz - I'd love to try a boxwave stylus too!

Glad that there is a Edmodo location where we can learn about using ShowMe in the classroom. I am interested in expanding our use of ShowMe here at Hampden Academy. We are a school with approx. 750 students and 100 faculty who all have an iPad. Everyone has downloaded the ShowMe app. I look forward to learning with you.
    • Jennifer Bond - I teach 3rd grade and have created ShowMe's to create end of the week "newsletters" where kids report and take photos of our anchor charts or other visuals from our learning. Another thing I have done is used Show Me to explain directions for math workshop differentiation.
