Thank you Educreations for the latest app update! Being able to restart the recording without losing my work will prove to be invaluable.- May 4, 2013

I'm looking for the best tool for an e-portfolio for grade nine. Any ideas?- Apr 30, 2013

Ms. Belle - Check Cherylsclassroomtips.com for a story to go with the diagram.

-
Ms. Garza - I do the same but on each c I draw 8 lines to represent 8 ounce
- May 4, 2013
-
Betsy Rettig,Classroom Instructional Aide - Great idea re the ounces. I think I'll add o's to mine (vs lines) to represent the 8 ozs in a cup. Might be a little crowded in the cups though, so perhaps I'll need to begin with larger G's! :-)

Mr. Jones - I must say that I like the premise of Edmodo - teachers helping teachers. Teachers paying Teachers does not do it for me.

Mr. Mazzotta - I agree

I have used bitstrips and they kids love them. I use them for grammar use. But lately it doesn't save my work. Really disappointing.
- Apr 11, 2013
-
Viviene Tuckerman - If the worst comes to the worst, take a printscreen and then crop? I know it means you can't go back and add/edit later. I love bitstrips too :(

I have a question about Educreations. Students are creating a presentation and some are using the computer version. Is there a way to type on it, (the computer version of educreations) and how do you save on the computer. I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Thanks- Apr 10, 2013
-
Dr. Jesness - You cannot type using the desktop version...however there are some workarounds. If you know how to take a screen shot of something you have typed and then clip out the piece of the screen shot you want and put it into Word and then save it as html. You'll have 2 images that you can drag into Educreations from the picture mode.

We are getting four Chromebook labs and seem to be moving to 1:1 Chromebooks. We love Educreations on the iPads, but noticed today the online features for creation are limited. Are there plans to make a Chromebook app?- Mar 27, 2013
-
Mrs. McCorkle - I would love that as well - as a teacher with Chromebooks!

My students have been creating some great videos with Educreations. They are also starting to blog with Kidblog. I just read that you can embed an educreations video into Kidblog but couldn't work out how. Can it be done on the iPad? I'd like the students to be able to include some of their best work on their blog so that it also becomes a digital portfolio.- Mar 26, 2013

Created a couple of lessons for my 4th and 5th graders. They loved them, they were able to view and review as needed. It was funny when they said "who is that talking?" And "why can't we see the person writing?" The visuals were engaging. I highly recommend using this resource. I created both lessons during my planning period. So easy and fast!- Mar 24, 2013

Dear colleagues, I wanted to know how you rate your students in your classes.(or let's say give marks) I'm having a lot of problems with it, mainly dissatisfaction of students.
P.S. Do you know any program like electronic journals, where I could give and save marks of students.- Mar 20, 2013

Mr. Jones - I use gradebook wizard. There is a nominal fee, but it is worth it.

Mrs. Earl - For a mobile app try Teacher assistant. To grade students (I teach 7th grade math) I count 60% on tests and quizzes and 40% on class work homework. Tests are objective and the other is subjective. My homework grades are based on effort and correcting their work as we discuss it I class. It also helps that all of the teachers in my school, by department grade the same way, and give the same assessments. This way a parent can't complain that one teacher is harder or easier than another. Hope this helps.

I have tried to use my stylus to write in Educreations, but it is slow and drags. Some things I want to write instead of type. What do I need to use?- Mar 20, 2013
-
Mr. Cabral - Have you tried a different stylus like the JotNot or Logiix Diamond? I find them accurate and smooth.

-
Mrs. Jaye - I have not. Where might I find one of those?
- Mar 20, 2013
-
Mr. Cabral - I am not sure where you are at, but they are available at quite a few places. You can buy them at amazon, best buy, London drugs, staples, probably even Walmart. They are different than your typical rubber-tipped stylus. Google it and you will see what I mean.
- Mar 20, 2013
-
Mrs. Jaye - Thank you. I will.
- Mar 20, 2013
-
Suzanne Barker - Does JotNot work on Educreations? I don't see it listed on the app list.
- Mar 20, 2013
-
Mrs. Jaye - I know very little about it, but I want to learn how to best use this helpful tool. All advice is appreciated.
- Mar 20, 2013
-
Mr. Cabral - Sorry. Not Jotnot the app, but rather the stylus made by Adonit. I find that writing in general with these type of styluses is much neater. It's a more pen like experience.
- Mar 20, 2013
-
Suzanne Barker - I was looking at the stylus. The website listed apps that the stylus worked with and Educreations wasn't listed. I was just checking because I bought a very expensive stylus earlier this year that will only work with two apps...
- Mar 20, 2013
-
Mrs. Mariner - I really like "Luntik". It has a pen built it in. (cliker type)
- Mar 22, 2013
-
Mrs. Jaye - Is there a specific place I can find one?
- Mar 22, 2013
-
Mrs. MacKinnon - Thanks for that information Mr Cabral. I'd given up. i thought that a finer tip stylus wasn't available. Only yesterday I was lamenting the fact! I've done a google search and it is just what I've been wanting.
- Mar 23, 2013

I am fairly unfamiliar with IPAD's and Apple Products being I don't personally own any although I can functionally use the IPAD at school. Is the "dropbox" on the Educreation App specific to the IPAD itself or is it something that I can upload on a desktop computer then access from any IPAD I may use? Any help would be great, thanks!- Mar 12, 2013

Mrs. Linder - Oh the joy of Dropbox! I'd encourage you to go directly to the website dropbox.com and watch their short overview video. Dropbox is a cloud system that allows you to drop documents/photos from one device to the next. It acts like a normal folder on your computer, but shares the contents with the cloud. Computers to iPads to iPhones, to other computers to even sharing with family/coworkers/friends/clients. There is a free storage amount and a paid.

I use DB on iPad to upload keynote/powerpoints I have created. Then use the Educreations app to create instructional videos. You do have to save your keynote/powerpoints as images (easy to do/export/save as) as Educreations doesn't read pdf files.
Hope this helps!!

Mrs. McKinnon - I just discovered dropitto.me Kids don't need to have an email, but they can still upload files to you
- Mar 13, 2013

Mr. Martinez-Black - I'd love to see how it operates, Mrs. McKinnon, but you have to register first. What can you tell me about it before I sign up?
- Mar 19, 2013
-
Mr. Warkentin - There's absolutely not reason not to get started with Dropbox right away! Watch the intro video, sign up for a free account, and on your computer, put images that you'd like to use in an educreations video into your Dropbox folder. Then when you want to make your educreations videos more interesting, you have access to anything in your Dropbox folder. It's marvelous!

Mr. Campbell - Our school banned Dropbox because of how it is set up, it is a security risk according to our IT

^^^is an Educreations addict! Our math department makes videos that our homeroom teachers share with our students to prepare for state tests. I also use it as a end of a project assessment. Students create their own video and we have a shared "class" account. All I do is log into the account at night and see all their videos! I also use it for grade level announcements such as field trip information/reminders and all the teachers do is hit play! No more miscommunication!! <3 Educreations!!- Mar 12, 2013
-
Mr. Fleck - I will definitely have to give it a try. Thanks!
- Mar 12, 2013
-
Mrs. MacKinnon - We create the videos and upload them to Edmodo, I ask them to view and comment on at least 3 others. More learning and extra incentive to do their best when they know their audience is not just their teacher.

Mrs. Peterson - yay! yay!yay!
Mr. Kraschnewski - I just updated the app, but can't figure out how to restart the recording. What am I missing?
Mrs. Geisler - All its missing now is the ability to scroll the page down and a real eraser. That would make it perfect.
