Our 5th/6th grade team has five teachers. Is there a way that all of us can share the app, so we can present a unified, consistent behavior management program to our students and all be "on the same page" so to speak?
    • Sokikom - We have many multi-grade teams that use Sokikom exactly as you are hoping Mrs. Robbins! All you'll need to do is have each teacher create a "Group" for their homeroom, and share that "group code" with all the other teachers in your team. After everyone has gotten their students into a respective homeroom group, have all your teachers join each of the different homeroom groups. After that, you will see all the other "Groups" in your dropdown of groups when you launch Sokikom. If it'd be easier, I would be happy to discuss this on the phone more...

I'm not sure why I'm having trouble using sokikom on my laptop and iphone. It says I can't launch this app. I've installed chrome on my laptop and I've even set it up on my iphone but it is not working. What am I doing wrong?
    • Irma Martinez-Flores - Nevermind! After playing with it for awhile, I finally got it to work.

I really like what I have seen so far.I liked classdojo. But love yours more. I teach a 5/6 combo. I created a class for my 5th and another for my 6th. Is there there a way were I can create a class were I have both 5/6th together> What I would like to do is hopefully have both my 5th grade student in my 5th grade class be linked with that same account that was created for him in the 5/6 class. Is an app coming out anytime?
    • Sokikom - Hi Mr. De Santiago,
Thanks for your kind words - we are really happy to hear that you are enjoying Sokikom! Great question - we made this video to show how to combine your classes into one "Group":
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUZ425gpVQU

    • Mrs. Ratfield - Hi Mrs. DeSantiago,
My students are avid Sokikom users. This game could not be more perfect for a 5/6 combo. Because these games are all Core Standards based, I've discovered as the students use it, I learn more about the complexity of the standards and how to better teach them. My kids are learning complex math while I am using Sokikom to bridge the staff development gap. You will discover, mathematically, this is an amazing "game".

    • Mr. See - Love the attendance option. I have been waiting for it to be implemented somewhere in Edmodo. I also like how it hides the absent students from receiving $$. How do you get to the attendance report though? I'm sure it is right in front of my face, but I don't see it. I know it's opening a can of worms, but how about an import/export function for the attendance grid, and the ability to choose a date other than today to edit.
Also, the random button, a great addition I didn't even know I needed.

      • Apr 29, 2013
    • Sokikom - Hi Mr. See,
Thanks for your feedback - we're glad to hear the attendance option is helpful in class! The attendance report is built into the behavior report, currently. If you click on an individual student in the behavior reports, for the days that the student was absent or tardy you will see it in parentheses right next to the date! For example, it would say "Behaviors given Yesterday (tardy)" if the student was tardy yesterday or "Behaviors given 4/23/2013 (absent)" if the student was absent on 4/23.

I have been giving my students badges for different things. I was able to create new ones for different things, but all of the badges have the same value. Is there a way we can give different badges different weights or values?
    • Sokikom - Hi Mrs. Canamar,
Thanks for reaching out - great question! We actually are a publisher within Edmodo (not a part of the Edmodo team), so we're not in charge of badges and aren't allowed to create them or set values for badges. I wish I could be more helpful - I'm going to forward your email to the Edmodo team so they can hopefully answer your question!

      • Ms. Schrock - What about different values for behavior? For instance, some days the class is more squirrely than others, so I need to get their attention by assigning more points for negative behavior ( I call these "credits" for positive behavior, and "debits" for negative behavior). Also, I would like to be able to give more points for positive behaviors like my classroom jobs. Any chance of getting a number value in this area?

        • Apr 30, 2013
      • Sokikom - Hi Ms. Schrock,
Thanks for reaching out with your question - unfortunately what you described isn't built into Sokikom just yet!
As a former teacher, I completely understand how it’d be helpful to award $5 or $10 for certain behaviors...and we have gotten this request from other teachers as well. Since we build our system based on feedback and suggestions from teachers you should know that this is something we're currently considering building into Sokikom. I'll be sure to keep you updated on the timeline if we decide to add this to Sokikom soon!

      • Ms. Schrock - Thanks, Austin! I think it would be beneficial for us to assign values both prior to the event and at the time of the event. For instance, my dailty jobs should be worth an extra value every day....but once in a while when I need to get their attention I could say "Today X, Y, and Z behavior will be worth $__."
One more thing...my kids are complaining that the games are only available in demo mode and they can't go past a certain level, yet everything looks to be installed properly. any suggestions?

        • May 13, 2013
    • Sokikom - Hi Ms. Schrock,
It looks like you have everything installed correctly for one of your groups, but that you don't have everything installed for a few of your other groups. I don't want to post the names publicly here, but the steps to fix this are the same and are very quick either way! Simply follow the steps in the video below to make sure all your classes have access to all of our math games for free!

At school and at her grandma's house she can connect just fine. Any suggestions? I suggested they try another browser, like chrome, if they haven't already. They haven't replied yet if that worked.

Hope you had a great weekend - I'll reach out with my email separately so you have that in the future!

I would also have immediately recommended switching to Google Chrome, as the "lost connection" message is either caused by a:

I am trying to print off weekly behavior reports. Some of my students' avatars are on their reports, some are not. Is there reason some show up and some don't? A setting on the students/my part that I missed somewhere? I am also trying to save color ink at my school by printing to a black and white printer. When I did this, the pie charts did not show up (everything else did). Is there a way to troubleshoot this? Thanks for any tips/hints you can share.
    • Sokikom - Hi Mrs. Wood,
We really appreciate you letting us know that you ran into this issue - our apologies that this happened in the first place! This almost certainly was caused by the web browser that you were using while printing your behavior reports. I'm not sure if you can switch to Google Chrome, but if you print your behavior report from within Google Chrome, there will not be an issue with the avatars and pie charts displaying.

    • Sokikom - Hi Ms. Clark,
Thanks for reaching out - great question! This is a general setting that we have in place:

If a student is logged in between 7:00 A.M and 3:00 P.M on a school day, after two minutes (total) of chatting, shopping, or browsing friend requests, they will be directed to new academic content to focus on learning. So, when a student attempts to use any of these features before 3:00 p.m., they will get the message that you are describing telling them to come back after 3:00! This is designed to keep students focused on purely educational experiences

    • Sokikom - Hey Mrs. Simonson,
Thanks for reaching out to let us know you’re having this issue! To limit inflation in our virtual class cash economy (and I'm not joking here - we've seen it happen quickly!) students have a maximum number of class cash they can earn for a given time period. We want teachers to be able to give as many behaviors as possible, but we also want students to earn class cash slowly enough that they can buy items all throughout the year. Essentially, this limit ensures that students who earn hundreds of behaviors from one teacher in a short time
