Looking for videos for student and teacher use around the Common Core Mathematics Standards? Then "Common Core with Mr. Almeida" is your solution!
Mr. Almeida shows that mathematics makes sense. He creates videos aligned to the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. Each video title begins with the actual Common Core standard number followed by a phrase that summarizes its content.
Grade level playlists are available to the right on the main page "Common Core Math with Mr. Almeida."

CALLING ALL BEGINNING TEACHERS!!!!!!!!
I created this group called Beginning Teachers. It is aimed as a platform for beginning teachers to help each other out, chat to each other and swap resources.
Please feel free to invite other beginning teachers (approximately 0-5 years experience.) We currently have members of the group with 6 and 7 years experience, so we are not very strict on experience! Also if you have twitter/other social networks, feel free to pass on the message. The more, the merrier!!

Mrs. Hanlin - I think some eveidences of a literacy-rich classroom are students that are reading daily, discussing in collaborative groups what they've read, and writing about it. Journaling and writing predictions for the upcoming text, writing connections (text-text/text-self/and text-world). Students that question and reach beyond the text would be another piece of evidence. A place for students to practice fluency, AR books that are aligned with the story or subject that you are covering, and work samples! Displaying quality work examples is so important for students to see and also allows for other classrooms to see what you are doing. I have an on-going Question board. Students can write questions for the text or characters on post-it notes and display. And most importantly, teachers reading and modeling fluency and comprehension think alouds for the students!

Mrs. Stluce - thanks for your response ...I do agree with such suggestions and we cannot forget the role as the teacher as being a guide as well as a learner inclusively in a literacy rich classroom.
