Hey Class Dojo tech crew! Can you make it ok to be logged in on multiple devices on the same account?- Jun 18, 2013

Hi everyone - I am new to ClassDojo so bear with my questions. Does ClassDojo have an app on Edmodo? Can you have ClassDojo open on your whiteboard and have it running in the background? Thank you!- Jun 17, 2013

Mrs. Osborne - Thank you Mr. Fiore!

-
Mrs. Cuellar - I really liked using it. I kept it on my computer and phone. Everytime the kids heard the ringing sound they would look to see who got the point added or taken away. I was able to have it displayed on the board with my doc cam. It helped so much with behavior issues. Hope u enjoy it.

Ms. Lavitt - How did you get it on your computer? I really don 't want it on my phone
- Jun 17, 2013
-
Mrs. Culpepper - You can make an account online and then just use it off of the website. You do not have to have the app. However, it is very easy to use it when you are in the hallway, lunchroom, or media center.

ClassDojo - Hi everyone - thanks for the great discussion :) If there's ever anything we can do for you, or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our teacher support team at hello@classdojo.com !

Mrs. Mappes - Ms. Lavitt- just go to http://www.classdojo.com and create an account if you haven't already. Each day I log in and leave that window open on my computer then I just award points as needed. They also have an iPad app if that's something that works for you.

Ms. Dunn - I use the app on my smartphone as well as it is easier to carry down the hallway.

Mrs. Hairston - It was amazing. However now I had a little overload but I will keep reviewing and exploring all the websites and apps that I was introduced to.

I hear that you have some neat upgrades coming....share.- Jun 8, 2013
-
Mr. Ball - Yes, please share! I would LOVE if you added a "store" that the kids could access when they log in and "buy" upgrades to their avatars, or other neat little things that would display on heir profile. I know kids would really be into this because they really enjoy building up thei virtual identities an statuses within the online universe.
- Jun 8, 2013
-
Mr. Ball - Another wonderful tool would be the ability for teachers to share assessments! But as you know I've been begging for this since last summer ;)

I love Classdojo. I have been using it since January. I like the timer, but it doesn't seem to work properly. I have only tried it a couple of times. It will count up, but not count down or reset for me. I use it to reward them during independent work time and I like to use a timer so I know when to give the reward!- Jun 8, 2013

ClassDojo - Hi Mrs. Nettelhorst - I am sorry to hear that. Can you please email our teacher support team at hello@classdojo.com - we'll figure out what is happening on your computer right away :)

Teachers, here are some of the things that make us AWESOME!- Jun 7, 2013

I would like to know if there is a way to allow kids to "redeem" points used in class. I have only been able to do that if I give a negative.- Jun 6, 2013
-
Mr. Veazey - I know that is something they have thought about or are planning, but I'd recommend external rewards programs in your class/school. What grades do you teach? Cash in points for lunch w/ teacher, free homework pass, "walk like a penguin(primary)",

Just cashed out class dojo points for the year...best classroom management tool I have ever used.- Jun 6, 2013

Teachers, here is the thank you note your students want to write, but they emotionally do not know how yet.- Jun 5, 2013

Anybody have any ideas on summer work for 6th grade students? We're wanting to implement some summer work for the 6 week break, focusing on vocabulary, math, and reading. Any suggestions for Edmodo Apps, websites, worksheets? THANKS!- Jun 5, 2013
-
Gregg Eilers - TenMarks has a great summer program for students. It has a cost, but my own kids are using it and its really good prep for them going into the next grade. Worth checking out.

Mrs. Stauffenecker - NoRedInk is a great Edmodo app for grammar help. Vocabulary.com is great for vocabulary.

-
Mrs. Thomas - One year I taught English to middle grades and they loved a unit I did on Middle Ages. We learned the poetry and romances as well the history behind them. Also, I included a book series called Sir Cumference about a knight who has adventures entailing mathematical discoveries. In this unit vocabulary was a big part and mathematical concepts. You could also use the book series by itself. The local library is where I got my copies. Hope this helps!

Mrs. Currie - I use it in a 7th grade classroom and they love it ;)

Ms. Concienne - I've used it with my juniors... I was shocked by how into it they were. They REALLY cared about what I decided to call "monster points" and it helped keep them on task during independent and group work (great instant feedback)- They're really just taller children. :)
- Jun 4, 2013
-
Ms. Wooten - I teach high school so I have 9-12 (sometimes all in the same class) and they liked it a lot!
- Jun 4, 2013
-
Randi Downs - So great to hear! I will have a bunch of 10th graders next year and would love to try it!
- Jun 4, 2013
-
Ms. Wooten - go for it! i have mine set up so that they get points for asking questions/participating in the lesson, being on task, hard work, etc and they lose points for being out of dress code, tardies, being off task/talking...things of that nature. they really get into who can get the most points and will really get engaged in the lesson. I also set up a competition between my classes and the class that got the highest overall percentage from one test to the next got the prize (my prizes were movie day, music day - they could listen to music while they did classwork, use of notes on the next chapter's quizzes/tests, 30 minutes of "free time"...they went for it. and surprisingly, the most common picked was use of notes so most of the students were taking notes and actively engaged in the lesson because of some simple dojo points! :)

Ms. Sears - High school!
- Jun 4, 2013
-
Ms. Pevler - Biggest part with high school students . . . let them pick the behaviors you are tracking. Now I always "directed" the listing but it was 85% student-created which helped with the buy-in. The other bonus is since they created the list, they couldn't fuss about what was on it!!! Also using CD in high school I find that I reward positives much more.

-
Randi Downs - Thank you! Very good advice--ownership and self-management is such a great idea! i will remember to do that!
- Jun 5, 2013

ClassDojo - Hi Randi - thanks for checking in! We have all the way up to college and law school classes, but we have tens of thousands of high school teachers using the site every week to help build positive learning habits :) Let us know how it goes!

Ever since I updated my app, it is having a lot of trouble. Is anyone else having the this problem? It won't even let me log in, it just kicks me out.- May 28, 2013
-
ClassDojo - Hi Mr. Stelson - very sorry to hear that. It sounds like there was an issue with the act of updating - if you delete the app entirely and reinstall it, the app will work properly for you :)

I just figured out a way to wirelessly link my IPAD (with dojo) and my laptop that projects to the wall!
Why should you care? Because now you can walk around the room with IPAD or anDroid device in hand and tally those points and the whole class can see!
The program is called Join Me

...And its FREEEEE!!!!!
