PSYCHOLOGY FOR ELT – MOTIVATING YOUNG LEARNERS
How do you motivate young learners? Well, it helps if you are such an inspirational teacher as Miss Brodie or Mr Keating! Now you might argue that such people are fictional, yet there are teachers out there who do work wonders – and this article is about one of them. Her name was Carolyn Jones and she was brilliant! But the big question is – can we benefit from her approach? Personality aside, were there any psychological techniques she used? And are they transferrable? Read and find out. But first, watch a short clip with the inimitable Maggie Smith as Miss Brodie…

SkillsTutor - Hi Mrs. Hendricks - Assuming you had the old version of Algebra II, then the new version should automatically be there. It’s called Algebra II (updated) and sits above the old Algebra II and under the new Algebra I in the scope and sequence. If it is not showing up or you are having trouble seeing this, you should contact your local representative and they can help you find it (1-877-219-1537). Hope this helps! Have a great day!

Did you know...that on this day, The Red Badge of Courage, by Stephen Crane, is published in book form? The story of a young man's experience of battle was the first American novel to portray the Civil War from the ordinary soldier's point of view. The tale originally appeared as a serial published by a newspaper syndicate.- Oct 3, 2012
