As the students prepare for summer vacation, I look for cool activities to share with them that they can do at home. I work with students in grades first through third. Does anyone have any interactive review lessons for students to do for basic math facts in their homes?- Jun 12, 2013

I've been working on a new site to sit alongside Johnnie's Math Page. It's called Manyness.com. I will posting to this site interesting stories, videos and pictures that have to do with surprisingly large numbers. This site will have great resources for teaching number concepts. It should also be just fun an interesting. Let me know what you think, and if you have great big number resources you would like to share, I'd appreciate them. - Johnnie- Feb 10, 2013

Hello Everybody, Johnnie here. Been in the thick of teaching algebra to my middle school kids. Usual struggles but much more success than in years past. I get a little better each year. Recommend the following site to anyone teac hing linear equations with their kids. Desmos is free online or you can get it through the Chrome Store.- Feb 10, 2013

I've been working on developing a video channel for Johnnie's Math Page. Been a bit of a struggle. Here is the first video I've put together. Need some suggestions (I know I need to work on the lighting). Appreciate any help you can offer.

Hi everybody, today its' Algebra!
I just shared this with the folks in the Mathematics Group. A lot of us who teach middle school work hard to find good models to get across beginning algebra concepts. This collection is a good one- it gives step by step models for solving equations as well as algebra tile models and pan balance models. Check it out.

I'm looking for ways to incorporate Edmodo into a math curriculum. Any ideas?- Sep 24, 2012

Ms. Joseph - You can post homework, video lessons, worksheets, students communication, etc. Also you can use the badges for rewards.

Ms. Garcia - I'm just starting to try to do the same but mostly for a support class. So I'm trying to register the kids and was going to use it to help the students work on what they need help on. I'm hoping to use the badges as encouragement. I might try to put together different badges for each of the different standards as a way to get students to help me help them track their progress on different learning goals. I have a limited number of computers in the classroom so I was thinking about using stations to get kids to be able to rotate around, do some math, check their work, play some games and then track their badges with only a few of them on Edmodo at any time.
