Mrs. Ring,
You could use subtracting by place for example:
365 - 254 = 111
300 - 200 = 100
60 - 50 = 10
5 - 4 = 1
100 + 10 + 1 = 111- Apr 5, 2013

Time flies when you're teaching full time! I haven't posted since November. Here's a brief update:
1. Math Playground has added a lot of new logic games to the site. We now have 164 math and thinking games and we'll be adding more throughout the year.
2. Math Playground has partnered with Rover, the educational browser for the iPad. Just enter mathplayground.com in the address bar, tap the mobile math icon on the home page, and enjoy many of your favorite games.
We'll have more exciting news next week!- Apr 4, 2013

CALLING ALL BEGINNING TEACHERS!!!!!!!!
I created this group called Beginning Teachers. It is aimed as a platform for beginning teachers to help each other out, chat to each other and swap resources.
Please feel free to invite other beginning teachers (approximately 0-5 years experience.) We currently have members of the group with 6 and 7 years experience, so we are not very strict on experience! Also if you have twitter/other social networks, feel free to pass on the message. The more, the merrier!!
I thought it would be a good platform to help each other out. The Join URL is:

Math Playground has launched its first iPad app. Shuttle Mission Math is a mathematical puzzle game that makes algebraic thinking visual and interactive. The goal is to find the weight of each space creature and assemble a team for the next shuttle mission. The app is intended for upper elementary and middle school students and is free of charge. We would really appreciate a rating and review after exploring the app. Hope you like it!- Feb 10, 2012
