I need some input from some Computer technology Teachers out there. Attached is a google document I'm working on, trying to figure out the process of taking 3rd grade students with very little knowledge of computers, within 4 years be able to do armature programming, to the point of actually creating APPS.
This is very time sensitive since there is a large private grant on the line, so please give me input, or PM me your gmail address so I could share the actual document with you.- Jun 10, 2013

I recently purchased Gamestar for a class of 30 summer school students (app through Edmodo). I would like to be able to print out reports of their progress and teach them the mini-lessons you offer online. I am not sure whether I should have students login through Edmodo or online at http://gamestarmechanic.com/join/redeem/ELDWo... (my class login).- May 24, 2013

Gamestar Mechanic - Ann Marie - your students should always log in to Gamestar through Edmodo if you purchased access through Edmodo.

Ms. Palmer - Thank you :)

Ms. Palmer - I apologize for my confusion. I just purchased the premium membership for 10 of my students and today received an email with links outside of Edmodo. Whenever I click on the links I get a message that says I cannot access Gamestar outside of Edmodo. I want to be sure to track my student progress. Thank you.

Gamestar Mechanic - Ann Marie -- you and the students should always log in through Edmodo. Let me investigate the email to make sure it isn't saying anything misleading.

Mr. Lewis - you are going to love it.

Ms. Palmer - Do you have an address I can send the email to? I will be starting a class on Tuesday (June 4th) and I would love to get this figured out if possible. I cannot use any of the links in the email because they all refer me back to Edmodo. Here is one of the links that is not working:

Couldn't find this in my teacher account options: Is there an option where my students can skip levels (the cheat button) in a game? We are writing game reviews (persuasive writing essay) and some students are reviewing very challenging 17-level games. It's more important they experience the game story and how the game works than if they conquer every level.
If a cheat option for students doesn't exist, I recommend including the option. It helps with playtesting also.- May 21, 2013
-
Gamestar Mechanic - Thanks for the feedback, Mr. Mickelson. We don't currently have a cheat option available to students, just instructors, but it's something we can look at.

I know gamestar mechanic has templates set up in the workshop. I like the lesson examples but could some of the lesson templates have backgrounds such as, layers of the sky, This would help my students when doing this activity. Thanks,- May 21, 2013

Gamestar Mechanic - Thanks Mr. Lewis. Are there particular levels or lessons where you would find this especially helpful?
