I am looking for a contract/poster/something to post in my room for acceptable use of mobile technology- i.e. when using byod devices is ok, what you can do/cannot do with BYOD, consequences...etc...I can make my own, but thought I would look for others who had already created this
    • Ms. Witherspoon - I have a contract that students and parents must sign for BYOD; however, it is 5 pages. Are you interested in that? You may pull info from it to create posters.

    • Mrs. Penchev - Yes please I would love that...it sounds like a good idea to use as well penchev@ehillel.org

    • Ms. Witherspoon - I sent it. Please let me know if you don't receive it.

Vertend Certificates are up and ready. Yay! I did have 3 classes that were missed. The ability to correct this is a great asset to the program! I just came back from there and it was a very stream-lined process!

A heads up: When you select print; select Properties and change the print view to "landscape"(horizontal view); otherwise, your certificate gets cut off on the right side.

Can someone tell me how to access FETC presenter materials on Edmodo? Thanks!
    • Mrs. Lea - From the conference guide you will need the group number. Click join and put the number in that is listed beside the presentation explanation.
      • Feb 13, 2012
    • Mr. Childers - If you go to the FETC site (or have the FETC program book), you should see a list of concurrent workshops. The workshop number is the access code to the group. Some have materials uploaded, and some don't. Hope that helps!

    • Mrs. Courcelle - Thanks, got it figured out! :)

I was hoping to download the wonderful keynote presentation by Heidi Hayes Jacobs. However, when I joined the group for the presentation no materials are available. Is the presentation avaialble elsewhere? Thanks!

A few days ago I shared a Scavenger Hunt my co-teacher and I came up with. Here is another assignment we designed as a "push project" for some of our students (we teach fifth grade). We started out pretty basic as we are trying to get the hang of the whole "online assignment" and assessment bit.
I like the basic structure of this assignment, but I'm curious about others' experience with using Edmodo for "formative assessment" on projects like this. Any success stories? Words of advice. Feel free to take this assignment and change it/use it. :)

I presented at FETC with two fellow teachers from my school. We had not been using Edmodo before this event, but it is going to to totally transform the way we teach. My co-teacher and I just started using Edmodo in our 5th grade Reading/Social Studies class. We had great success using a "scavenger hunt" to introduce the students to the program (66 of them). it was really awesome to watch them figure out all the parts and pieces without sitting through a lecture. Just thought we'd share. I'm attaching it as a doc and docx in case you have an older version of Word. :)

Any word on the VerAttend certificates? We have not received email yet, and when I login to tinyurl site it shows 0 credits. Hoping it's a glitch and not just me!
    • Mrs. Womble - ALL the VerAttend scanners are currently being uploaded by badge number and sorted. They will be finished by mid-Febraury and then you will see the complete certificate online for your VerAttend attendance. We are working as quickly as possible, with record attendance, the downloads are larger than expected.
The website http:tinyurl.com/VerAttend will have your complete data by 2/17/2012 and each attendee will get an email to remind them to check their points and print if they wish.
Thank you for attending FETC 2012!

    • Ms. Behrens - How many total attendees were there at FETC 2012? I can imagine that this was going to take longer than anticipated!

Hi everybody, I led a workshop on Photoshop Elements. I am attaching the images and handout that we used if you'd care to explore on your own. I am also attaching a link to a page that has several video tutorials (more are being added) on using PS Elements.
    • Ms. Symes - Did you post these to the code in the FETC program too? If so, I'd like to join for other info you might post. Thanks!!
      • Feb 6, 2012
    • Dr. Visser - I did indeed!

The question, Where/how do FETC presenters post their presentations? , was answered as follows: In their group. The group code is the session number. I know I'm missing something, but how do I find the group?
    • Mrs. Womble - Click on your Home tab at the top. On the left hand side where it says Groups--Join or create--click on he word JOIN. A pop up box will appear ont he screen--type inthe 6 digit code for the session that you want to get materials, evaluate or join (the session you want information from)!
The 6 digit codes are in orange font by every session in the printed FETC Program guide and on the fetc.org web page listings. Once you join your session group, you have access to all materials!!!
      Thanks for using Edmodo!

      • Amber Moore - Is there any way to access keynote speeches?
        • Feb 2, 2012
      • Mrs. Pardue - This will only work if they have it posted. Some of the presenters said they would and they didn't. Instead they gave links during the presentation. It would be great if all the sessions did post on Edmodo.
        • Feb 2, 2012
      • Kevin Smith - @Amber- I'd also like to see the keynotes. Where can they be found?
@Mrs. Pardue- I experienced the same thing, the presenters said they would but didn't (or haven't yet). I'd like to see that be a prerequisite for presenters. Loved the conference!
        • Feb 3, 2012
      • Mr. DeNote - It actually is a requirement if you are presenting, but the deadline to get information up is today (Friday, Feb 3). Make sure you check back and hopefully it will be there!
        • Feb 3, 2012
    • Mrs. Pardue - Thanks for letting us know. It is frustration when there are no PPP/ Notes/ links.

Hey, I attended some sessions, but none have posted its presentations. Am I doing something wrong??
    • Mrs. Womble - Thank you for attending FETC 2012--our most successful event ever!
Many of our Presenters are just getting home and posting their materials to their groups. You can also email them (the Presenter Directory is in the printed program) to ask them to notify you when they post their materials. We ask all presenters to post by February 3rd.

Where/how do FETC presenters post their presentations?

I used the FETC app for the iPad during the conference to schedule my sessions. Today I went back to review the sessions I attended and there is nothing there, no data about the conference at all, not just the sessions I had attended. Is anyone else experiencing this? Did FETC erased the data already? If so is there a way to get the info back?
    • Ms. Behrens - Yes it looks like they wiped our app slates clean already. :/

I would like to use VoiceThread in my computer lab. I looked last night for a free educator account option, but did not see one. I know that sometimes the free accounts are harder to find. Am I missing something?

This just came through my ScoopIt Site: IDroo for Skype users (White Board)
    • Ms. Rossier - It looks like there is only a Windows version to download?
      • Feb 1, 2012
    • Ms. Behrens - That is a strong possibility! I have sent a message to the developers asking them about it; and asking if they were going to develop one for the Macs if they didn't already have one. Stand by for the feedback on this situation.

None of the sessions I attended have presentations posted. Am I missing a step? A few examples of sessions I attended: CS7447, CS8066, CS5729, CS3392
    • Mrs. FETC - We'll be sending a reminder email to presenters this week. You are not missing a step - just need a few more people to post their presentations!
