Mr. Rubina - Dr. Quimby, I agree, mine got into a small fight. Half the class on each side...sigh.

Mrs. Rosenbusch - I have made a questionaire and we will be watching coverage during their class period. (7th & 10th grades) I also have an electoral map with the votes for them to color in as the states are called.

Tom Radulovic - Mrs. R., news organizations will not be releasing specific exit data until after polls in each state close. Calling states won't start until after 7 pm East Coast time. It might be fun to focus on the tossup states and see how they will affect the outcome. Here's a link http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/2012/romn...

Tom Radulovic - Mrs. R, here is an interesting topic. What if there is a tie in the electoral college. CNN link: http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/26/politics/electo...

-
Mrs. Burling - We have a micro-community model in our pod of 4 classrooms. After weeks of campaigning we are getting ready to listen to mayor speeches. The students will then bring their IDs to the voting booth and cast their ballot.

Mr. Pratt - Mrs. Rosenbusch I too would love to see your materials

We still don't have school in Long Island thanks to Sandy... I am so completely bummed. My students spent so much time posting to Edmodo since the beginning of school and using the program to comment in real time during the debates. And then Sandy ruined everything. Such a bummer.- Nov 6, 2012
-
Mr. Dudley - I'm in Jersey, same here. I haven't seen my kids for 6 school days and won't see them until Wednesday (if many at all).
- Nov 6, 2012

Ms. Tuttle - I bet your students will be very excited to be back at school.

Many of my SS colleagues use both Edmodo and 270towin.com to teach about the upcoming election. Unfortunately, students are unable to post their own digital Electoral map predictions onto Edmodo. We've looked at a few other models (i.e.-the CNN Student News Electoral map) as well. Also, I believe our curriculum coordinator emailed 270towin.com, but they did not hear back positively. Question, does anyone have a solution, other ideas, or any additional insight into this matter? Take care and thank you in advance.- Nov 5, 2012
-
Mr. Korling - All you need to do is have the kids take a screen shot of their map and then then post it as a file or, if you have them making their own wikis, then they can post their image of their screen shot on their wiki and then they can include the link via edmodo.
- Nov 5, 2012
-
Mr. Risley - They can also create their own maps here (just click on a state to edit or change): http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/...

Does anyone know if there is a news website (CNN, etc.) that is streaming election coverage online during the school day on Tuesday?- Nov 5, 2012
-
Mrs. Frank - This is probably not what you're looking for, but CNN Student News is a great resource for 10 min. daily on news, and I'm sure Mon. and Tues will be mostly about the election.
- Nov 5, 2012
-
Mr. Dennis - As long as you have a cable or dish service you can get live coverage from CNN, just click on the national news then Live link!
- Nov 5, 2012
-
Mr. Howard - It appears that CNN does have a live stream at http://www.cnn.com/video/?/video/cvptve/cvpst...

I am giving all of my history classes an election assignment Tuesday night to encourage them to watch coverage of the election returns. Does anyone have any ideas? I have both academic and honors classes and would like to give the honors group a more challenging assignment. I was thinking of some sort of analysis sheet and then use Wednesday to discuss the results.- Nov 4, 2012

Mr. Korling - Have a look at these listed on Thinkfinity: http://www.thinkfinity.org/api-search-standar...

My students are participating in a Mock Election today (voting online). I only have 10 computers in my room, so I need something for my students to do while they aren't voting. It's been a long few weeks, so I was thinking something relaxing and fun like a crossword with election vocab. Does anyone have any good resources they can share?- Nov 2, 2012
