    Hi Folks,

Please find issue 3 of 'ICT in the Classroom'. The file is an A3 document in PDF format and is best viewed in 75%+
Feel free to forward it (in its original format) to anyone you think may have interest in it or forward their email addresses and I will gladly add them to the list. This is a voluntary not for profit pet project of mine!

    Kind regards,

    David Ganly
    • Ms. Lee - I'd love to be added to your email list, but as I'm new here and still figuring the ste out, I can't seem to figure out how to privately send you my email. Help, please.

    CALLING ALL BEGINNING TEACHERS!!!!!!!!

I created this group called Beginning Teachers. It is aimed as a platform for beginning teachers to help each other out, chat to each other and swap resources.

Please feel free to invite other beginning teachers (approximately 0-5 years experience.) We currently have members of the group with 6 and 7 years experience, so we are not very strict on experience! Also if you have twitter/other social networks, feel free to pass on the message. The more, the merrier!!

I thought it would be a good platform to help each other out. The Join URL is:

    • Ms. Shields - Sometimes parents are the barrier. They may not want their child online at home during the week. I suppose this is an access issue or maybe one of equity and requires differentiation.

    • Mrs. Gallatin - As far as usernames, passwords, we use first name, last initial for most applications with our K-6 kids and a generic password. The 4-6 graders use their state issued ID number as their Edmodo username and a password of their own creation. This is the same log in they use for our school network to access their secure account. Our tech guys/Power School people manage this, so all we as teachers have to do is pass out the names & passwords & keep a copy for reference.

I am looking for a way for my students to keep a 'Math Journal' on line for the semester. What I am looking for is a place where they reflect on their work a couple times a week. It would be great if there were some math symbols as part of the program but it would be ok if not as it will mostly be a running self reflection.

    Hi Folks,

I have recently started to put together an 'ICT in the Classroom' e-bulletin which is circulated amongst a growing number of secondary and primary teachers interested in TEL, here in Ireland. It was initially aimed at our staff but then I decided to circulate it further. It contains a variety of topical and useful applications, articles and videos (with the aim of not overloading). It's voluntary and not for profit, please feel free to pass it on in it's original format and connect with me here or on LinkedIn.

I have attached the first two editions and if you would like to be put on the monthly emailing list (no spam or catches) just let me know. The file is A3 and best viewed in 75%+

    Regards,

    David

I know this is probably 'old news' to most of you but I was searching for a way to change my method of using SQ3R, which is required at our school, into an online 'group quiz' that can be accessed and modified by all the students in my course. Correct me if I am wrong but http://www.quizlet.com seems to be the route to take since it allows me to create a group that all my student members can join and add 'flashcard' questions that can then later be practiced by the group.

    • Mrs. Nunn - I have my son using quizlet but having my class use it has not been a priority because I figured it would take more time than I have. Your comment has my interest. I'm going to explore groups now. I have a group that loves online collaboration.

    • Ms. Holmes - I use quizlet with students and like it. And you can embed it right into your edmodo page

    • Mrs. Leiker - I have since been using it for my students SQ3R and I really love it.
