First of all, the person who created this video has a job title I had never heard before. He is an Explainer. That's right! He makes videos to explain just about anything. What is the theme of this video? Is he persuasive? How do you think he planned out this video? Could you become an Explainer one day?
    • Meghana E. - The theme of this video is distracted driving. I think he planned out this video by watching what other people did on the roads ( not in a car though because then he would be the one that was distracted and he would be not following what he said ). I think I could become an Explainer some day.

      • Meghana E. - I like your new profile pic, Mrs. Shields.
      • Ian V. - The theme of the video that he made was about distracted driving.I thought he was persuasive because he showed how you could be seriously injured doing it.I think he did plan out what he was going to say because he didn't say um.........I think I could be a good Explainer some day.
      • Ms. Shields - Thank you Meghana for liking my picture! When I was 6, my parents bought our first family dog. She was a beagle just like the one in my picture. I was the oldest so I got to name her. The Disney movie Cinderella was on TV, so I decided she should be called Cinderella. She was such a loving dog. She would even go to my best friend's house two doors down to say goodnight!
      • Meghana E. - How many siblings do you have, Mrs. Shields? I used to love the Cinderella movies. I like Beagles. The baby ones are really cute. Do you currently have any pets?
      • Ms. Shields - I am the eldest of 4. I have a sister and two brothers. Missy, my little Cairn Terrier is my only pet other than Sparkle. They get along well when Sparkle is at home.
      • Meghana E. - I love Sparkle.
      • Ms. Shields - He is a lovable bunny!
      • Meghana E. - Yes, he is. His fur is so soft. This sounds cruel but..............................I would love a coat made out of Sparkle.
      • Meghana E. - Sparkle is so cute.
      • Ms. Shields - Meghana, you make me think of 1001 Dalmations and Cruella D'Ville!
    • Meghana E. - Hahaha.

How far would you go to take a test?

    Graded 5/5 | Nov 18, 2011
In this picture, from rural Uganda, pupils balance on a makeshift bridge to school, such instances usually put the pupils’ lives at risk. This is mainly as a result of disastrous floods that usually wreak havoc after heavy rains, some schools sometimes do close for some time as the waters submerge and this usually causes sharp drops in pupil enrollment and buildings with cracked walls, damp classroom floors and mangled iron sheets are a sight to behold.

Surprisingly, some pupils have mastered the exact location of the rails. So they carefully wade through the...

    Graded 5/5 | Nov 17, 2011
Read this article. Use several sentences to explain how this article helped you with ideas for your own restaurant project.

    By Rachel Baker, age 15
    Columnist

My parents and I recently visited Le Gourmet European Bistro, a charming restaurant in North Wales with an even more charming owner, who welcomed us and told us all about the food we were about to eat.

The interior of the restaurant has a true European look and feeling. The art, the music, and even a little pastry counter in the back you can admire as you patiently watch and wait...
