Well I knew she 3 t-shirts $8.00 a peace so I added 8+8+8=$24 and a pair of shorts costing 12.00 so I added that to the $24 and that $36.00 and she left with $5.00 so I added that to $36 that was $41 in all.
  • Ian K.'s avatar
    I added 8 + 8 + 8= 24 + 12 + 5 = 41.
  • Cameron S.'s avatar
This is what I did I added $8 3 times(one time=one t-shirt and she bought three t-shirts)Then I added the $12 (the $12=one pair of shorts) Finally I added the $5 because she left the store with $5 and My answer was $41.
  • Wade S.'s avatar
    All I did was I did $8x3,that equaled 24.After that I add $12 and I got $36, then I added $5 to $36 and I got $41.

So I knew that she bought 3 t-shirts that cost $8 a piece and a pair of shorts that cost $12. She left the store with $5. Then I added up 8 3 times and that gave me 24, so then I added 24 + 12 and that was 36. So then I took 36 and I added 5 to it and that was an answer of 41 dollars. So 41 dollars was my answer.

    Title: Lou Gehrig

This book is about a good baseballer who got a sickness that can't be stopped and it just eventually kills you. He died at 37 yeas old that is young to die at.
I would recommend it to kids and adults that are interested in baseball. Then I would not recommend it to kids and adults that do not like baseball. Why? Because they would not probably not be interested to read it. I think it is sad that Lou Gehrig died because of a bad disease.

This book is about a monster family. All the little monsters want to know who does the mother love the most.To them it's a mystery. But the mother monster loves all her little monsters the same but in different ways and for different reasons. Then one morning all the little children wanted to do a Birthday surprise for "their" mother and so thats what they did. The first thing "Max did was made the best Bang Bang jokes. "I like the book and I think that other kids will like it because it's a family story to read with the whole family". Thats why I think some kids will like it.

    LIFT A LINE

We have practiced "lifting a line." That is when you take a sentence or two from a text that is difficult to understand and try to make meaning of it.
    Considerations for "lifting a line:"
    • What do you think the author means? Why do you think this?
    • What is your understanding?
    • What don't you understand?
    • What do you wonder?
    • How could the author have said that a different way?

YOUR ASSIGNMENT: REPLY TO THIS POST!!!
Write the TITLE of the text.
COPY the LINE you are lifting.
    WRITE your thoughts.

    Here's my example:
    Text: Because of Winn Dixie
Line: "And right at that minute, right when the three of us had decided to be friends, who should come marching into the Herman W. Block Memorial Library but old pinch-faced Amanda Wilkinson."

My thoughts: I get the feeling that India Opal felt that she had a really good thing happening, making friends with Miss Frannie Block. That is, until Amanda Wilkinson arrived. The text said she "marched." That gives me the impression that she was walking formally and with purpose, it almost sounds like Amanda was sure to ruin India Opal's new friendship. It doesn't sound like Amanda is going to be much of a friend because she is "pinch-faced." Sounds to me like she is a grouch. I wonder whether or not Amanda will ruin the new friendship.
