The 2012-13 school year marks my 16th year teaching Agriscience and Floriculture at CMS. I live in Salem with my family, including my husband Josh, who is an Assistant Principal at Hidden Valley High School, and our two children Austin (11) and Emma (7). We also have a Goldendoodle, Bindi, and two cats, Sox and Turbo.

In my time away from school, I enjoy gardening, reading, and being with my family. I spend a lot of time running my kids to their practices - horseback riding and swimming are their sports of choice. I am also certified as a YMCA and Roanoke Valley Aquatic Association Swim Official, so I spend a lot of weekends judging swim meets.

B.S. in Animal Science: Science Option; minor English: Professional Writing (Virginia Tech)

M.S. in Career and Technical Education: Agricultural Education (Virginia Tech)

1999: Honorary State FFA Degree

2007: National Board Certified Teacher: Career & Technical Education in Agriculture and Environmental Science
