I've had an interesting 16 year career in education! I first started out as a full-time school bus driver. My first principal saw something in me that he liked and asked me to become a substitute teacher; which got me interested in teaching. So I went back to school and finally graduated from the Watson School of Education at UNC Wilmington. I got my first teaching job as a first grade teacher at Zebulon Elementary Magnet School. After one year there, I was given the opportunity to become part of a brand new school, Harris Creek, where I continued teaching first grade. After 8 years in first grade, I am now serving as the Technology Facilitator at The Creek. In addition to that, I teach drivers ed at Wake Forest - Rolesville HS. I have also worked with the NC Teaching Fellows as a Facilitator for the Discovery Tours of 2010, 2011, and 2012. I teach because I want to make a difference in the world!
