About Mrs. Cynthia Schaub

As one teacher at Palm Beach Virtual, for one of the many franchises around the state of Florida teaching Florida Virtual School (FLVS) curriculum, I am one of the luckiest teachers in the world. I say that because FLVS is the most successful virtual school in the world (literally)! Being a part of something like that is a wonderful experience. Our school curriculum is aligned with all state and national standards, but what makes it great is that it was constructed by professionals who spent months building these courses to fit the needs of all learners: there are short videos, short presentations, lots of readings, experiments, quizzes, tests, projects, collaborations with other students, discussions, online virtual sessions, and quizzes with the teacher via telecommunications at least twice per month. We talk to parents at least once per month and they tell us all the time that they have never talked to their childrens' teachers so much or felt so vested in their child's education as they do in our school. That is the key to our success: our connectedness. Not every student can do virtual school, but it is becoming hugely popular (see http://www.iNACOL.com). There are virtual schools in 45 out of the 50 United States of America (and counting). Our students are typically full-time athletes, teenagers who have been bullied, teen moms who might not graduate otherwise, self-directed learners who want to learn at their own pace, students who want to take more than a full load in order to graduate early, and students who need one extra course. Who would not love to do this job? I'm very fortunate!!!
