I am originally from New York, but not New York City! I grew up in a small town near Lake Ontario. A town as small as the one that I now teach in! I'm proud of my country roots! I currently live in Richmond, Virginia but am excited to be moving into a brand new house in New Kent!
This is my fifth year of teaching and I'm at my second school in Chesterfield County. I started at Swift Creek Elementary as a Learning Disabilities teacher and was transferred to Matoaca Elementary to be the Emotional Disabilities teacher.
I teach because I have a real passion for working with students with special needs. I knew I wanted to be a teacher in kindergarten and it was all because of the lovely lady that taught me. And 25 years later I am still in touch with her!
I look forward to having fun learning and growing in this district and am excited to see the schools change and become better suited for our students!
