My name is Denise Stephenson and I am a native of North Carolina .
Prior to working in CMS, I worked at a little school in the beautiful mountains of Haywood County. Kindergarten in the mountains was a friendly interactive learning environment where children learned through play and were often self-directed. They worked naturally in small groups and collaborated on things such as: which type of blocks work best when building towers, which container holds the most water, and what will happen if we ....... ?
They learned through observing, exploring, building, measuring, drawing, talking, and DOING!

Although the classroom setting is different now, it is my hope that I continue providing students with an environment that fosters collaboration and teamwork. An environment where kids can be kids, learn new things everyday and feel secure and happy at school!

I look forward to another year of making kindergarten PI time... the BEST time of the day!
