WELCOME BACK 3RD GRADE STUDENTS!!
I hope that you had a wonderful summer that is full of family, friends and fun! I wanted to take a moment to welcome you to Bluffton Elementary and our third grade family! My name is Ms. Aimee Tidwell and I will be your teacher this year. It has been said that,

“Success is not a place at which one arrives, but rather the
spirit with which one undertakes and continues the journey.”
This means a couple of things. First, it means that although the end result (grades) are important, the journey that we take along the way as we curiously investigate the world around us, stretch our thinking, grow in character, and become a true community of learners is just as important as that end goal of grades. What this also means is that as you, your parents and your teachers work together for you to have a successful expedition through third grade; we need to do it in the spirit of:
* Being there - Giving 100% in all that we do
* Being responsible and disciplined
* Planning, setting and meeting goals
* Being a curious explorer – get your hands dirty and S-T-R-E-T-C-H your brain!
* Making choices to be positive, encouraging and having great attitudes
* Playing – Work made fun gets work done!

Third grade is a important time in your social and academic growth as you switch classes, take on more responsibility and meet students from other schools.
We will take the first step of your sixth grade journey on as we meet you and your family. We will take many more steps together on our trip as we work to have a school year filled with adventures, interactive learning and many wonderful memories.
I am so looking forward to working with you and your family as we partner together to make your third grade year a success. I hope that you are as excited as I am to begin this fantastic voyage! I’ll see you on! Enjoy the ride!
