I CAN, therefore I teach. :)

I live in Virginia Beach with my husband of 16 years, Jay, our three children, Austen, 14, (who is a freshman in the Math and Science Academy), Hannah, 11, and Lainey, 8, and our 5 year old Springer Spaniel, Max. I have Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Old Dominion University, and I have also attended Virginia Tech and UVA.

This is my twelfth year teaching and my sixth year here at Ocean Lakes High School. Before joining the staff here, I worked in Hampton City Schools teaching subjects ranging from life science, to reading, to various levels of mathematics. I then taught Geometry for two years at Kemps Landing Magnet School, before taking a few years off to raise my children. I achieved National Board Certification in Adolescent and Young Adult Mathematics in November of 2012.

In my spare time, I enjoy running, scrapbooking, reading, and teaching online courses for the School of Professional and Continuing Studies for UVA.
