About Mr. Glennon Poirier

I began teaching in 2001. I have taught Drama 1 and 2, Improv, English Language Development, English 9, English 9 Honors, English 11, and have been an Activities Director and Leadership teacher. My current assignment is teaching 10th and 11th grade English/Language Arts. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema-Television Critical Studies and a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting Film and Television, both from the University of Southern California (Fight on!). I earned my teaching credential from Cal State San Bernardino in 2005 and in 2011 I was certified as a Master Activity Advisor by the California Association of Directors of Activities. I am a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. I am married with 4 children. I like playing reading (books, magazines, news, etc.), technology, nerdy/geeky stuff, watching movies and TV, and riding my bicycles on the road and the trails . I have also enjoyed making scale model aircraft, writing, photography, mountain biking, and filmmaking. I am interested in Science, Technology, History, Language, and Art. I am trying to become fluent in Spanish and have taken Salsa dancing classes. My favorite book(s) is The Lord of the Rings and I know all kinds of geeky stuff from them. My favorite movie is Raiders of the Lost Ark. I teach because I want to make a difference for my students. I believe that it is important to have a positive and lasting impact on the world. I want my students to have a chance at a better life and an education is a key part of that.
