Welcome back to another great school year! I am Denise J. Clark, 5th grade ELA educator. I began my educational journey as a graduate of Claflin University (BA degree in Studio Art) and South Carolina State University (M.A.T. degree in Elementary Education) and a recent graduate of Walden University (Ed.S. degree in Administration in Teaching and Learning). For the 2012-2013 school year, I am honored to represent Geiger as their Teacher of the Year. I am the founder of LEGASC (Leading and Educating Generations Across Schools and Communities), a nonprofit organization based in South Carolina. Through this organization, I help young women between the ages of 10-24 in the areas of education, healthy lifestyles, self-worth and community service. I love spending my time reading, motivational speaking and having QT time with my son, Deon. I look forward to working with the awesome faculty, staff and students this year. As the great Oprah Winfrey quotes, “Think like a Queen. A Queen isn’t afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to Greatness!
