Hello! I am Ashley Stokes, 5th grade teacher at MGES. This is my seventh year teaching fifth grade. I taught in Greenwood School District 50 for one year, Gilbert Elementary in Lexington School District One for 4 years, and this is my second year at Meadow Glen Elementary School. I graduated from Lander University with a bachelor of science in elementary education in December 2006, Columbia College with a master's degree in elementary education emphasizing divergent learning in May 2008, and The University of SC master's degree in educational administration in 2012. i am currently taking courses to become endorsed in Gifted and Talented teaching. I have been in school since I was 3 years old (24 years!) My passion is ELA, but I am very excited to be teaching all subjects again. I find that being self contained has tremendous pro's because of the classroom community that can be built!

I got married this summer to Chris Stokes, who has background in mechanical engineering and online marketing. We live in Columbia and are planning to get a puppy this year (after graduation of course)! We love Gamecock football, fishing, hunting, and running. Although I love sports and being outdoors, I also love to curl up on the couch with a good book!

I am excited for a new year at Meadow Glen and can't wait to kick off the year with my new students!
