I have lived in Niceville, Florida all my life, and graduated from Niceville High School in 1983. After high school, I received my Associates of Arts from Okaloosa Walton Community College. From there, I went on to the University of West Florida, where I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Vocational-Technical Studies/Vocational Program Development in May 1998.

I have been on staff at Niceville High School since July, 1986. I began as the principal's secretary and stayed in that position until August, 1998, when I began my teaching career. In 1990, I was selected by the Okaloosa County School District as the Non-Instructional Employee of the Year. In May 2008, I had the honor of being selected as Okaloosa County School District's 2009 Teacher of the Year.
