I live in Orrington with my three sons Luke, Colby, and Dixon. I teach Honors Biology, AP Chemistry, and Senior Seminar. I am also the head Cross Country and Outdoor Track coach. I am part of the school website team and manage our social network and media sites. I am also currently serving on the School Improvement Team as part of our work with the Great Schools Partnership.

I like to hike, go camping, and visit new places with my sons. I ran cross country and track in high school and college and have run seven marathons but I do more biking these days. I like to cook and I enjoy working with technology. I am the webmaster and am on the executive board for the Sub 5 Track Club. I like to read non-fiction, mostly biographies and books about education policy and pedagogy. In 2007 I was elected to the Orrington School Board. I have loved science all of my life and am a big believer that scientific knowledge can enrich our lives and help us understand the natural world. My two "heroes" are Thomas Jefferson and Charles Darwin.
