Hello. My name is Tracey Cannon and this is my 14th year teaching and my 13th in Beaufort County. I began my career as a 3rd grade teacher in Columbia, South Carolina. I then moved here to the Lowcountry and worked for 5 years at Hilton Head Middle. I am a graduate of Winthrop University with a Bachelor's in Science - Elementary Education. I am certified to teach middle school Language Arts, also. I am also an endorsed Gifted and Talented teacher.
I believe that we must have high expectations for our students to truly learn and to help prepare them for the real world. As a mother of three, I know that with those expectations there must be many hugs and times of encouragement to help students 'keep going' when times get tough.

I think taking care of the Earth is a must! I am passionate about the 3R's - Reusing, reducing, and recycling. I work hard to teach these habits to my students and to work with the school on our recycling program.
