I'm currently the literacy specialist at Woolridge Elementary. In the past, I've taught first grade for 2 years and kindergarten for 4 years. After wanting to learn more about teaching young children to read & write (especially those who struggle), I went back to school and gained more experience as a Title I Reading teacher for 8 years. One of my favorite quotes..."Reading is the most complex neurological task a person undertakes in his/her lifetime. That human beings are able to read at all is a miracle. Yet, most of us are able to do it so effortlessly that we fail to realize how difficult it is." I've always loved teaching & consider it my career, not just my job; I'm always ready to learn more!
