I am currently employed as an Instructional Coach in the EC Division. My job is to support teachers in the areas of literacy and math. Our district supports research based reading programs such as Reading Mastery and Corrective Reading . In math, we support TouchMath, Number Worlds, TransMath, Essentials for Algebra and Algebra Readiness. I serve 10 elementary schools, 10 middle schools and 5 high schools. I also train teachers in Reading Mastery and Foundations of Reading (an intense 5 day training that teaches how to effectively teach reading to students with persistent reading difficulties). Prior to this position, I worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the school system.
