Welcome to the home of the Henry All Stars! We are working as a team to create a safe, warm and exciting classroom environment filled with learning adventures. We are all stars each shining in our own special way.

Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a native South Carolinian with a degree in Drama from the College of Charleston. My spirit of adventure and love for learning led me to Alaska where I earned my teaching degree in elementary education as well as a Masters in Special Education. In Alaska I taught in a remote setting in a K-1-2 classroom and taught all three of my children. Extensive Training in developmentally appropriate practices serves as a hallmark in my professional development while in Alaska.

Through Beaufort County Schools I have spent the last 10 years working as a Reading Recovery teacher and earned my National Board Certification. These two incredible programs have shaped my teaching practice by meeting the needs of all students through the use of data. On-going professional development helped me to hone my craft of teaching through reflection, research-based practices, and collaboration with teachers.

My love and enthusiasm for learning and teaching is the gift I strive to share with my students and the gift I have received from my students as a teacher of 23 years. My time energy and focus will be on your child in our classroom. Thank you for this opportunity.
